Vovem Meat & Liquor

Very nice, well-finished and elegant place. Staff is extremely polite and definitely cares about its costumers. The table is dressed with Vovem signed plates which is lovely and the dinnerware is stylish. The food is good, we tried the carpaccio which was amazing. The burger was tasty, although we were expecting more from the ribeye steak. Prices are higher than the average but that’s reasonable for the high quality service offered.

I would rate the place at a lower 4. The ambience and the service was great. The place is popular as well. However, a place being a stakehouse and priding themselves with their meat should have no issues woth any of their meat. I had a dry-aged rib eye which had a bit too much nerves, whereas my wife got a very nice fillet. The side we ordered was too salty, we could not eat it. The dessert - apple crumble - was very nice though. One should not experience that much gamble at such a restaurant, hence a lower 4.

Ate here for the first time with a large group of colleagues and have to say that I was equally impressed with the food and the waiting staff. Let's start with the food. I had a ribeye steak and it was coked exactly to my liking. Perfectly seasoned and although I had a side of peppercorn sauce, the meat easily stood on its own. We had a variety of sides that complimented the meat but there was no doubt that the steak was the star of the show. I had scallops to start and again these were perfectly cooked. Just a quick word about the staff. This was a large table (two tables really) and they were super efficient and clearly knew what they were doing. They were friendly and attentive without being overbearing (my restaurant pet peeve) and worked hard throughout the evening. The restaurant was busy in general but you never felt that the staff were rushed. Although there were some vegetarian options, it is probably best avoided if you don't eat meat. If you are carnivorous then this place should sate.

Excellent ladies night out! The restaurant decor is very cozy and modern with the right amount of lighting. We all had stakes which were excellent with delicious sides and sauces. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We had the opportunity to meet the chef also! Cheers Mark! Absolutely recommend for any kind of night out or occasion.

Great place - we popped in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. From the street the place looked really quiet but the restaurant is up the back and was very busy considering we ate at 4pm. Steak was great although the smallest sharing porterhouse steak was 1.1kg which was a bit much for us but tasted fantastic. Really nice drinks offering too and staff were lovely. At one point the main manager seemed to be giving the staff a bit of a hard time right behind us which wasn’t nice to hear. The staff were great so felt bad for them and it’s rather unprofessional.
