Calvert Canines

We cannot recommend Calvert Canines enough, after some not so good help and advice from previous training schools, we have finally found two fantastic ladies who have helped us and our ever so friendly Labrador no end. I used to be taken for a walk every time we stepped out of the front door, now after a slow and steady force free, calm, and positive approach we can go for a walk together. We have learnt the true value of connection with your dog and Jen has helped us with her analogies so we can understand our pooch even more. We are a work in progress and are continuing to learn new skills such as recall to the whistle and how to politely meet other dogs. Laura is always on hand to make this both professional and enjoyable. We have learnt the importance of diet and a food change has also made a positive impact. We can honestly say that the pieces of the jigsaw are beginning to come together. We are excited for the journey ahead. If only we found, Calvert Canines sooner!

Jen is absolutely brilliant with my dog and is helping him to like other dogs again! I trust her 100% with him and he loves his time with her and other dogs he has met through going out for walks. Jen has taught me so much and we are working through things together to help him trust other dogs again. Jen is very reliable, knowledgeable and has the dogs best interests at heart. I always get an update of his walk with her and this includes photos and videos. My dog loves Jen and doesn't look back when going out with her!

I would highly recommend Calvert Canines. Our recently adopted rescue was so anxious when she arrived and had a few difficulties adjusting. I contacted Jen and she and Laura arranged to come and assess Brandy at home. I love Jen’s holistic approach, she asked lots of questions about Brandy’s routine, what we wanted to achieve and made insightful observations. Brandy has benefited from the individual training sessions as well as lots of social walks. Jen and Laura are knowledgeable, caring and perceptive and they have a wonderful passion for understanding and helping the dogs in their care.

Calvert Canines have been brilliant, I'm self employed and their flexibility has been invaluable, they have provided an excellent, professional service. Jen is clearly very passionate about high quality training and socialisation with an emphasis on kindness and compassion towards the dogs and the results speak for themselves. She is able to read dog behaviour so well. They have been walking our older dog reliably for years and are now helping us socialise our puppy, who is not an easy breed. Their services have been, and continue to be, so important in raising a happy, well adjusted dog. Many thanks!

Jen has been wonderful in helping both me and Winston with anxiety around other dogs. She has carefully guided us through a number of introductions with her buddy dogs (who are equally as wonderful!). She is calm and professional, moving at your dogs pace. Her approach is all about positive reinforcement and she has such an ability to read dogs. Winston is so happy we found you!
