Parking in the adjacent council run car park was confusing and not easy to find the allocated hotel space. the pay and display, is the be kind, bloody confusing. some machines only take cash, while some do take credit cards. explanation as to how to avoid parking penalties when staying overnight is about as clear as mud, and getting the necessary tickets leaves you wondering it you will be hit with a heavy parking penalty if you get it wrong. rooms are clean and sized, ok for this type of hotel. missing are tissues in the room and a glass for your toothbrush in the bathroom. small and accapable omissions for us. unlike many, if not most, hotels, travelodge did not choose a mild or non scented soap for the hand soap in the bathroom. having a rather sensitive nose, this strong scent meant i had a mildly irritated nasal system for the duration of the stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff, so kind to prepare a handwritten map to help us get our bearings. very clean and reasonably spacious rooms. great price and handy for town. getting to the car park was a challenge so i would suggest googling the actual car park rather than the post code provided by travel lodge website. other than that we felt welcome and valued so thank you to all the staff.
It was such a pleasant stay here! very clean and tidy! the rooms are really spacious too! they had free coffee or tea with provided clean utensils and cups! the bed sheets and covers were so comfy and they smell newly washed!
The window has a nice view for the river. the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. they do go of their way to make your visit comfortable. the beds are too comfortable. - you just stay in them. the location is in the town centre. great place. does standout has being one of the best travelodge i've stayed in because of the way i was treated. the staff do make the difference. they were all fantastic.
From start to finish, our stay at the travelodge aylesbury has been a treat. we called prior to arrival to get directions to the car park and to the hotel. the receptionist, allison, was both respectful kind and gave us the information we need it for easy journey into aylesbury. we were greeted with a cheerful smile and kind words with reference to our telephone conversation. later we were given perfect directions on how to get to saint mary’s square. upon return, i realised that i had work too much for today and needed some way to soothe my ankles. again we were given empathy and offered an additional pillow to elevate my legs. the rooms are small, very clean and supplied with everything we needed. the canal side room was lovely. the bed was very comfy for both of us. and the all you can eat buffet breakfast set us up nicely for another busy day. what is lacks in bells and whistles is more than compensated by its cleanliness, comfort, and friendly helpful staff. we’ve stayed at a lot of high end hotels where the staff was poorly trained and not happy campers. thank you travelodge aylesbury for a lovely stay.
