Travelodge Basildon

Good hotel for the price. We stayed on a bank holiday weekend, so there were lots of loud revving cars and bikes near us, but there was a warning on their website about it, and for £35 couldn't moan at the price. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Elaine. They have a lift inside which was handy for us, as we were located at the top floor. They do provide a boxed breakfast with a pain au Chocolat, flapjack, juice etc for £5.50. the WiFi is free for 30 mins then you have to pay. Parking is free and lots of it. Overall it was an ideal stay for us, as it was central to people we needed to visit down here.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Reception lady was hilarious. Made us smile after a long journey. Worth the drive just to chat to her. Stayed here several times and we are always particularly pleased when we are greeted by Jennie. She can't do enough for you. Always has a smile on her face. Seems to be in 3 places at once. The flat sheet on my bed wasn't long enough to cover the whole bed. Tried my best but just wasn't able to get it to fit. (I used to do hospital corners on beds when I worked in care homes and inpatient units, so it definitely wasn't my skill). Otherwise, it was okay. No power sockets by the bed was mildly irritating but it definitely wasn't a priority of mine.

Really helpful staff on reception , very friendly and welcoming. Good location right next to cinema and many different restraunts on your doorstep. Rooms looking very tired now desperately need a refurbish or even a lick of paint..bathroom was unfortunately not very well cleaned. Still good value for money and fine for a one night stop over
