With good expectations we went to this park. But it was not completely open due to COVID regulations. They started doing maintenance and removal of grass. The park is vast in space with boating, tiny trains but nothing is operational. It's 20 minutes far from the bus stop and 10 minutes far from railway station.

125 acres of country walks means you can spend some time here. There are 3 main walks, an explosives trail, WWII trail & a sculpture trail. Each have their own interest but I didn’t think they were very well signposted, so kept finding myself on another trail. Some wildlife spotting to be done along the way. There’s an adventure play for kids & the green has some old buildings to look at. Cafe was closed but a kiosk off the green provided some refreshments & food. Delicious 99

We visited Wat Tyler and got there fairly early (well not that early, it was 9am!). First comment is that if visiting at the weekend you may sit in a queue as the local recycling area is next door and the cars seem to queue up on the road before it opens. When you eventually get into Wat Tyler there is a few different places to park (but the parking is free!) The visitor centre area includes some toilets and a cafe - although most (all?) Open at 10am (which was a slight issue with the small person when we got there!!) There are a few walks that can be done. I thought on the drive in that it was a pretty big place, but in all honesty it was no where near as big as I thought it was. Scattered throughout the walks there is a few things and information boards to discover which was good. On our visit the train was not running (signs said maintenance - but the line was incredibly overgrown so I suspect not run for a while?) Also, the playground is currently being refurbished so the kids were unable to go on that either. A nice place, and will probably improve / give a better experience once things are back up and running etc.

Nice day out... We visited on a Saturday around noon and parked right in front of the centre... Centre was closed due to ongoing refurbishment. There are loads of free parking spots, which was really nice. Wat tyler country park is free to visit (an added bonus). We had an amazing time walking round the grounds. There are 3 different walking routes with lots of information dotted around. We did the outer walk round and found lots of interesting sites to explore. As it had just rained, some of the paths were muddy (Wellies highly recommended if it's been wet). The kids play ground was open with loads of puddles around for the young ones to make a splash. The onsite train was out of service whilst the cafe was also not open due to refurbishment in the centre. Would recommend bringing your own snacks or getting some from the onsite Kiosk... All in all, it was a good day, and we all had loads of fun

Really lovely park, does not feel like your in pitsea. They have the little train rides, marina and sometimes they have bouncy castles and activities for the children. Lovely place
