Boots Opticians Basingstoke - Old Basing Mall

Today I had an eye test booked at Boots opticians. I go for an eye test yearly as my Mother had glaucoma. What a lovely friendly and helpful bunch of people they are! Last year, I went to another, well-known, opticians where I was told I needed both distance and reading glasses. I said that I read every night and have never had a problem. I ended up with the ophthalmologist and 2 sales assistants trying to push me into having varifocals which I didn't want. They were pointing out glasses which would have cost nearly £400 with the lenses, way out of my price bracket. The push was so bad that I ended up walking out and never went back. I've been wearing an old pair of my daughter's glasses ever since which isn't ideal. Today, I was told that no, I don't need reading glasses. I was able to pick a cheap pair of frames, (£70), which I really liked and not once was I made to feel I should be choosing anything more expensive. When I asked about anti-glare as I have problems with oncoming car lights during the winter, I was given the option of 2 and the lady who spoke to me said that she had the cheaper option on her glasses and that they worked just fine. No pushing. No being made to feel cheap for not going for designer frames. Not being told I need something I don't...I'll definitely be going back and I'll be telling friends and family about the wonderful service received in this store, (Basingstoke). Highly recommended

Boots Basingstoke (Store 3318) I’ve been coming to Boots opticians for 18 years. I’ve received nothing but 100% personal service. There are always friendly staff on hand to meet your needs. This store is so efficient from start to finish with excellent communication. Would like to thank Carolyn in particular, who has been part of the excellent service throughout the last 18 years! It feels almost as if we’ve struck up a friendship. 😊 Highly recommended!

I now don’t live in Basingstoke anymore but would always come back here when I need new glasses. I’ve tried several other stores and brands, but have always felt the glasses I have got from this boots opticians are the most comfortable. Huge thanks to Carolyn - she has helped me recently with frames choosing and adjusting, really appreciate her expertise and advice, always super friendly and so very helpful! 🌟
