An interesting National Trust property. The house is of immense historical interest. The gardens and woodland walks are well maintained, but a bit tricky in places for buggies etc. Staff are friendly and well informed. Plenty of picnic areas, which is probably the best bet as catering is a little squeezed with queues when busy. I liked the Dahlias and Sweet peas in the garden. Plenty of ideas for budding Gardners!

An excellent experience! Beautiful grounds and building but the best part was the enthusiastic, cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful staff, really made the visit special. Very much recommend for a visit. The building has a rich and storied history and its rooms tell the tale themselves.

Another stunning property from National Trust. The house is beautiful, well maintained with all original possessions, and its display of different styles, Tudor, Victorian. The gardens are magnificent. The land is perfect to walk and explore the breathtaking views. And all staff super warm and friendly. Just perfect to enjoy the day out!

Magnificent Tudor house, with gardens and woodlands. Good fun trying to spot the birds and wildlife in the wetlands, from the bird hide. Nice walks through the woodlands, and beside the lake. Unfortunately, due to ongoing works, it's not possible to walk all round the lake at the moment. Lovely place to relax or have a picnic on the lawns in front of the house, there's lots of picnic tables and seats around. The tea room is quite small, although there's more seats upstairs, and was very busy, so there was quite a queue outside.

A nice national trust place to visit. Building work makes the entering of the place a bit narrow and long but once in it has lovely flowers and lake. Didn't visit the house today but seen it before and it's worth a walk round. The walks round the ground can be very muddy so not fit for all people, but has a lovely little bird watching hut! Not sure on non paying people being able to do the walks on offer without a ticket. The cafe is small and underwhelming - but plenty of outside sitting available and picnic benches throughout aswell. My kids enjoyed the games out on the lawn the snakes and ladders and sack races. Enjoyable place for a family day out.
