Second review (written on 16 January 2023).... * We were notified via email by Sophie Horace-Beck on 11 January that the Basingstoke Centre would be closing permanently at the end of January 2023. * The email suggested that we would be contacted by 'Jamie' on 12 January to discuss what our options would be. * I wrote a review here afterwards on 11 January detailing my deplorable experience with the Basingstoke centre and I got a reply the next day saying that I should've been contacted already by 'Jamie' or I should contact him via email. * Starting 12 January, I have emailed 'Jamie', called Sophie Horace-Beck on her official number which is attached to her emails and called the Basingstoke centre's phone number. * The phone calls weren't picked and my email to Jamie has not been replied. I have had no contact in return in any form from Bright Young Things. NOBODY has reached out to me since the email they sent on January 11 announcing that the centre is to close. * Any more evidence required to show that my scathing review last week was justified? I would give zero stars if it was possible to do so. Since my son started attending lessons in September 2021 we've had several hiccups. * On at least 3 occasions we've turned up for booked sessions and the centre has been closed. * We've been double-charged in the past. * Lessons are arbitrarily cancelled due to staffing issues and most recently due to broken down toilet facilities we missed out on a 2-hour session and we've still been unable to catch up on time owed. * Communication from staff is more than woeful. There are not enough words to describe how bad they are. Staff in the centre are unable to book sessions and booking them via email has been made so difficult because they either don't reply on time or don't reply at all. I had this problem yesterday when correspondence via email was lacking and I turned up for a session which should have been booked by them and the tutor wasn't expecting my son. I am not sure why the centre has a phone line, they rarely answer the phone. On a few occasions, bizarrely, phone calls are routed to a sister centre in another part of the country and the message isn't delivered to Basingstoke. I have noted that Sophie Horace-Beck has replied to a negative review from another disgruntled customer here in the past. I have had the misfortune of dealing with her in the Basingstoke centre on a number of occasions. I booked some sessions through her (in person) and when I turned up for the first of those sessions, I was told by the tutor available that my son wasn't on the calendar. I then received an email from Sophie informing me that we weren't expected on the day and when I explained the circumstances under which those sessions had been booked, she had the effrontery to send me another email claiming that I was 'mistaken' as she wasn't in the centre on the day I claimed to book the sessions. I had to send yet another email to her detailing blow by blow what she said and how she said it when she assured me that the sessions would be booked. I wonder how she became an Operations director, her conduct is unbecoming of the role. She has zero desire to accept responsibility for errors made, always deflecting blame. I am not at all surprised that I received an email today announcing that the Basingstoke centre is to be permanently shut at the end of January 2023. The place is a disgrace and is unworthy of a licence. I would prefer a refund for the rest of the month, I am sure they'll find a way not to give that and still fail to complete the hours we're owed before they shut the place for good. I will send their head office this review, if their other centres are as bad as the Basingstoke one, they're better off going out of business. Review written on 11 January, 2023.
