The Z Hotel Bath

1st time staying and will be back. the location is perfect and the price likewise. the staff were very friendly and obviously loved working there. when we arrived to check in the computers were down, but they had a plan for this eventuality and carried.on serving everyone as quickly as possible, and more importantly kept smiling and chatting to the customers. the room was very smart and modern looking, but there were a couple of small cleaning issues. for example the tv remote needed a good clean and there was a little dust around the corners of the floor.

Great location, but not easy to get to by car. the tiniest rooms i've ever seen, with no storage space. fine for one night, but not if you have luggage and need space to put it! the bed was against the wall, so i had to climb over my husband to get out. the bathroom is in the bedroom, just glassed off. no privacy.

Cannot fault good service, excellent location right in the heart of town. super friendly and helpful staff. clean, lifts, quiet.. my only negative point, which brings the rating down, is the size of rooms...matches tokyo style, as in tiny. there is no where to put bags, very few ganging spaces, and a tiny, albeit very clean shower room. we took a room with a window... wouldn't recommend it without. all together, recommended only for location and reasonable price for bath, where everything is overpriced.

Be warned in advance that this hotel is definitely for a single traveller. i would not recommend this for couples as two people navigating in the small room would be very uncomfortable and the way the bathroom is designed is pretty much an invasion of privacy, in my opinion. back to my review as a solo traveller! the location is quite weird, like it doesn’t look like a hotel - it’s just not where you would expect a hotel to be. i was pleasantly surprised when i did walk into the reception area. although it looks quite weird from the outside, it is a walking distance from everything that you need to see in bath which is just great. the receptionists are nice and helpful. there are lifts in the building too. the rooms are well lit, i love that there is a big modern tv at the end of the bed. the air-con was strong, very effective. the bed was amazing, the mattress here was firm and supported me well. if you like firm mattresses, you will have a great sleep. i got a room without a window so i loved sleeping in the pitch black however it did feel weird and different waking up at 8:30am in the morning in pitch black. my only actual issue with the hotel was the noise from the outside hallway, coming into the room. it just didn’t feel sound proof, people were loud when walking by, just people walking, doors opening and closing. i drowned it out by turning on the ac. i can definitely see myself coming back again though.
