Stumbled upon this little place when visiting bath christmas market. the menu was big and seemed very authentic, every tagine you could think of! plenty of desserts and drinks to choose from too 💜 this is definitely the type of place you would want to visit multiple times to work your way through the menu choices. the waitress was lovely, however she was having to serve all the tables herself and the restaurant could've used another staff member working. as a side note, this restaurant is definitely not wheelchair friendly.
Tried moroccan food for the first time at tagine zhor and it was the best it could be. the 2-course set menu meal for £16.50 was a steal deal. home made harira- the traditional soup was kinda tomato soup but very delicious. really loved the favour of vegetarian tagine too, just felt had too many potatoes for my taste. the host kindly accommodated my request to replace rice/couscous with bread and the bread was one of the most delish bread i’ve had in a while. lamb sambouic ‘s pastry was light and lamb filing was yummm! tagine djaj bel barkouk was delicious and exactly the way it’s described. finished the meal with mint tea and baklawas for extra £6.25. mint tea was refreshing and baklava was exactly the way i love, crispy and sweet.
Food was amazing, i went there in march, been a long time but really wanted to appreciate. there was only 1 waiter and the place went busy it was too much work for the guy. hopefully they should hire more waiters so less burden on current staff but the food is highly recommended.
First time trying moroccan cuisine. we had lamb kibbeh for starters, moroccon mint tea and coffee liqueur. mains we had lamb tagine with couscous and duck tagine with rice. both had quite interesting flavours and tasted different. it's pretty big in quantity for one person but worth trying. special mention to amazing lady who served us and kudos to managing the restaurant alone.
We have only eaten here once before but kept saying that we would like to visit again. so we visited with friends on a sunday lunchtime and had the lunch menu. it was excellent value for money, the food is well flavoured, authentic and had lovely depth of flavour. the service was excellent too. we love the restaurant themed in a moroccan, north african decor. we're already planning our next visit.
