Music Workshop Bath

For anyone who wants the thrill of being in a band without the commitment this is an incredible experience. All the staff, led by Kim, are phenomenal musicians and great to work with - and its clear they all love hanging out together. You are put with other musicians and led through the whole process of choosing, practicing and finally performing 3-4 songs in front of an audience. After being part of Music Workshop for nearly 7 years, whether that be as a previous drum student or now just as a friendly face, I have only just sat down to share my enthusiasm for them online! Music Workshop and MuwShed is what can only be described as a family. The tremendous amount of encouragement I was given when starting taking up lessons was incredible, I felt so welcomed and supported in every step of my journey in music. The opportunities presented by the MUW crew, allow all manners of friendships and connections to grow. Making music with fellow musicians, playing in shows, picking up instruments you never thought you would and thriving with them is what Music Workshop is all about. The teachers and crew are amazing at creating a positive, happy and supportive environment, there really is no place like it! As a student, Music Workshop is my safe space where I can go and play drums, not having to think about anything else in the craziness which is school life and exams. The teaching is excellent, with such a high quality of standards and really rendered to each individual student. I now go as an ex student just to see the familiar faces that have been part of my life for so many years and occasionally hop on the drums, I am always warmly welcomed. To any parents or students, who are looking for a positive and encouraging music teaching environment, there is nowhere else I would suggest but the Music Workshop family! :)

Great cafe and set-up. Super family friendly, brilliant service and a safe covered space for little ones to stretch their legs whilst we are enjoying a good coffee. Looking forward to enrolling our little one into more music classes once she's a bit bigger! For now the toys are enough to keep her entertained :)

I'm learning to play the mandolin with Dan, having had a (nearly) 40 year break from playing any instruments. He's a talented musician in his own right but has a great understanding of what it's like to be a beginner and guides with a balance of techniques, theory and encouragement. I'm progressing all the time, enjoy practicing at home and look forward to the lesson. I would recommend Dan without hesitation. Our 6 year old is learning to play the ukulele. She's made steady progress over the months she's been attending lessons and enjoys learning the different pieces of music. I really like how Dan accepts the rate of progress she makes and is able to gauge when to move her onto another level. He is completely unfazed by her 6 year old quirkiness and mixes fun and theory to get the best out of her. Again I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dan if you are thinking of music lessons for your child.

Flew from Hungary for the live podcast recording of DRUM with Mike & Eddy, ended up also taking a drum lesson with Kim. This place is an absolute gem, very special. You step through the doors and feel like you are at home, with family, it has a vibe that is hard to explain. The coffee shop on the ground floor has a great selection, the staff is awesome. The lesson was really great, even though there is probably nothing more difficult than teaching a one-off, Kim gave great feedback and really good advice.
