The Herd Steak Restaurant

On recommendation of our hotel, we tried this steak house near the Pulteney Bridge and we were genuinely impressed. Interesting decor, simple but welcoming. Service was good and the menu was straightforward. We shared a steak platter with Filet, Sirloin and Rib Eye with a few sides. Steak was cooked just right. Sides were plentiful and tasty and the sauces were spot on. Definitely recommend a visit.

I'm so glad I found this restaurant! I wanted to find somewhere nice to eat the celebrate getting engaged to my now fiancé and going off the reviews I decided on The Herd. It has a small dining area so it feels quite personal and the atmosphere was great. The service and food were second to none, I can quite happily say this was the best steak I've eaten for many years! Karl was a very attentive host and made us feel very welcome. If I ever visit Bath again I will 100% be reserving a table! You definitely need to bottle and sell the Red Wine Sauce too, it was incredible!!

We ‘walked-in’ during a birthday getaway in Bath. Welcomed to a table and experienced nothing short of great hospitality from Karl. Drink choices were plentiful, served with ice and garnish. The char-grilled chicken was beautiful and the porterhouse steak was just mouthwatering, both dishes were tender and full of flavour! Choices of different sides including truffle chips to name just one and all table sauces available too. We were blown away by the atmosphere and the attentiveness during our visit. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and going the extra mile to celebrate with us! ❤️

Absolutely love the steaks. Ordered the legendary, pepper corn sauce, with prawns. Went home stuffed! Staffs are really nice as well (Karl and Lulu). Just a bit dark inside but I think that's just their vibe. :)

We had an amazing meal here for a friend's birthday. The steaks were generous and cooked to perfection (a multitude of steaks and preferences) and the staff were friendly and attentive, props to them for making us feel welcome and looked after. Not the cheapest meal by any means but well worth the cost. We left happy, satisfied and stuffed!
