McConvey Cycles

I purchased my second Ebike from Halfords (the first one got stolen) it has been my means of transport to and from work, and has been an enjoyable experience. How ever - low end E-bikes will have faults. So i took my Ebike to a fantastic gentleman for a full chain and cassette replacement from Norms bikes in smithfield market behind castle court - brilliant store and lovely guy and rplaced my stock cassette and chain with a much better and reasonably priced one. But.. My breaks and pads were being eaten through - as they are 'what you pay for' so as Norms Bikes has a very long waiting time, i decided on taking my Ebike to McConvey Cycles. From the moment i stepped foot into the store i was greeted with a warm welcome from staff, who made chain reaction and halfords look like rookies - with their knowledge. I had my breaks re alignmened, replaced and working beautifully! For a reasonable price and my bike (though i had booked it for one day) was available for a collection just a few hours later. My advice to anyone buying a low end bike - prepare to pay slightly more replacing parts in the future but definitely use these guys. I also have a speech impediment and staff were fully patient and understanding with me. Great store and staff.

We have dealt with McConveys for quite a few years, buying bikes and accessories. They have always been more than helpful and a bit of "thinking out of the box" once by Mark the excellent mechanic solved a problem with a manufacturing defect perfectly. He refused to be beaten and he wasn't. Top bloke with a great grasp of engineering. I have now ordered a new ebike from them and received the care and understanding that my needs require. I await its arrival. Lance is a gem and he and the rest of the team led by Boss Eamon are a credit to his company. In these days of general apathy towards customers McConveys are a pleasure to deal with and follow up any of my queries with courtesy and consideration. I have been around a bit in my 73 years and we would have no hesitation in recommending them. I have been cycling since 1959 and can say with honesty IME that they are the best at what they do and what they offer. Thank you guys. Sam.

I have faith in these guys offering a good service if you're willing to pay for new parts. However, the value of cycling to me is the benefit to the environment through sustainability. It is disappointing to me that the staff are so willing to encourage an outright replacement of a bicycle that was brand new only a year ago, due to ordinary wear and tear. I have only ever been encouraged to buy a new bike when I go in for repairs here.

Served by Lance and Eamon. Great experience from start to finish. Really friendly and knowledgeable bunch. Felt well looked after. The staff took plenty of time to talk me through through my options and help me decide what I needed presale. Then again to set me up on the bike when it was assembled. Would definitely recommend and will definitely use in the future. Thank you
