I was disappointed with the europa hotel. it didn't live up to my 4 star expectations. the restaurant, bar and piano bar were lovely. the prices were outrageous. almost £7 for a pint of guinness. £34 for a steak. i felt the prices way exceeded the food that was produced. it was nice but it wasn't anything special, for the price. i felt that the restaurant was a little like a conveyor belt; gey you in and get you out! my biggest problem for me was the bathroom. the toilet roll holder fell off the wall and there was a dirty robe (complete with make up stains and hairs) left on the back of the door. there should have been two clean ones! i reported both issues but nothing happened. the robe was still there for our second day plus our bar of soap disappeared. the bath towels were very damp and didn't have a very nice laundry smell. the shower had a musty smell. when i went to find the hairdryer, i found an old sock in the drawer! the best thing about the europa were the lifts! very efficient and quick. i felt that the europa was overpriced for the money we paid.
This iconic establishment is renowned for its rich history and exceptional service, and my experience only reaffirmed its well-deserved reputation. from the moment i stepped foot into the grand lobby, i was captivated by the hotel's timeless elegance and charm. it has played witness to numerous iconic moments in belfast's history, and stepping into its hallowed halls felt like stepping back in time. one of the highlights of my stay was the breathtaking panoramic views of belfast that greeted me each morning. being able to witness the city come to life from such a vantage point was an experience i will cherish.
Had a wonderful one night stay with my family. we took two executive suites. the rooms are huge and the bed is massive and comfortable. you can see a little wear on the foot of the doors and in the shower cubicle but not anything to deter. the piano bar and breakfast were wonderful. the provenance of your breakfast items on display is a lovely touch. the key to making it a memorable stay is the staff. efficiency is a given. it’s how pleasant and welcoming they are which makes the difference. my wife had wanted to stay in europa since she was a child and from the moment we checked it lived up to the hope and expectation.
Came here back in nov 2022 for a quick visit during my holiday in dublin and regret not staying longer. great location - next to the train station and bus station and close to several awesome rooftop bars / classic pubs helpful staff - there were some issues with the room that they quickly solved and when i needed more water, they were quick to bring me 4 bottles without question extremely nice layout - clean hotel, nice layout and very welcoming decor my only concern was that the fire alarms went off a few times in the middle of the night (3 am) which was annoying but realistically speaking, i'd rather know that they're working vs not.
Great location, good reception staff, rooms were surprisingly large which was great for relaxing with nice chairs and beds. loved the ability to open the windows for a bit for fresh air. shower taps kinda sucked - difficult to use and shower could use a good clean and bleach in the grouting. service in bars left a bit to be desired - was slow and inattentive in upstairs bar at one point. downstairs, bar staff weren’t particularly well informed about the hotel and some more frequent wiping down of tables would have been good - only cleared glasses but didn’t bother to sanitize surfaces between seatings of customers.
