Victoria park is an excellent green space area that offers a variety of things to do for all ages. the main (outer) path is wide and well constructed with a natural grain effect to disguise the concrete finish. it forms a circular loop around the perimeter of the park to offer activities such as walking, cycling and running. the vast surrounding vegetation easily disguises any urban views and noise to give the impression of a quiet country walk - albeit still being near the centre of the busy city. the park links with nearby lagan water courses and therefore has good water features such as a duck pond. while we were there, we spotted various wildlife including ducks and herons. to gain access to the playing fields and inner wide open spaces, its necessary to cross a little footbridge. once at the centre 'island' you can play sports or explore further, more rugged walking trails. the park also has a children's playground and a bmx track. it is accessible from airport road over an impressively constructed footbridge or an underpass on the park avenue side of sydenham. great place to bring your family, friends or pet. especially on a nice sunny day.

Very nice place to visit. one of a attractions is that city airport is located very close to the park. nice spot to see a landing ✈️

Nice belfast park with a lake for wildfowl. the park has football pitches, an outside gym and wooded areas on an island inside the lake. there's a children's play area and basketball court. cars can access the park via an a2 underpass from kyle street. it's a popular place for families, walking and you'll catch a glimpse of the famous samson and goliath cranes from the football pitches.

A really nice failsafe walk when hazelbank is too busy and with roadworks there this is a nice change. parking in the ‘commercial’ side instead of all the windy wee streets to get in sydenham side, is my preferred way, come in via sydenham by pass and round by shorts. there’s a handy car park just opposite niace building and one of the famous cranes. cross over the white bridge and you enter a lovely park. turn right follow the well made path round and you’ll come to another bridge. cross that onto the centre island and follow the path round the edge and it’s a lovely walk, back over the bridge and left just follow the path round. took me around an hour so i know that’s around 3 miles. great stretch of the legs and right in central belfast. apart from odd aeroplane and of course road noise well suppressed from the by pass it’s a peaceful place. toilets were broken with door hanging off day i visited but apart from that, minimal litter and well kept.
