Karen the Celebrant - Belfast, Northern Ireland

There aren’t enough stars to in the world to give karen for how amazing she is. ryan and i were married on the 5th of april 2022 with only 23 of our closest family and when people say your wedding day is the best day of your life, they aren’t lying and the majority of that was down to karen. we had scoured instagram looking for a celebrant and thought karen would be a great fit, and after a few emails and a zoom call we were delighted with our choice and were so excited we had found somebody so nice and easy to get along with who seemed to really understand what we wanted, we were so looking forward to be married by her. although we felt we got a great sense of who she was, nothing prepared us for meeting her in person. karen is truly beautiful inside and out. there aren’t enough words in the world to describe what a wonderful human being she is. our ceremony was perfectly tailored to us, with our love story being told by karen like it was straight from a movie, our celtic traditions were no trouble to her and each was explained perfectly to our guests at each stage. we genuinely can’t have a conversation with any of our guests without somebody saying how magical karen was and how the ceremony was unlike anything they ever experienced. karen had our guests laughing and sobbing, and when i was looking down at my family lost in her words it was one of the most magical moments of my life. one of my family members even commented that they didn’t think much of humanist ceremonies but after witnessing karen at work, they completely changed their mind. i can’t put into words how much i would recommend karen. i could write a novel about all of her good qualities, and any time i think of her my heart bubbles with happiness. i feel like in a version of my life karen is my best friend. i absolutely love her to pieces. she is a master of her craft and i feel like everybody needs a karen on their wedding day, because she is one of a kind!

Where do we even begin?! karen was an absolute godsend for us through the entire planning process, and was a star on the big day. she was so easy to work with and really took the time to get to know us, as individuals and as a couple, and was able to expertly portray just how special this day was to all of our guests during the ceremony. a true jack of all trades, she acted as an usher, a backup photographer, and our families couldn’t stop raving about her. i can’t recommend her enough, not only as an expert celebrant and officiant, but as a wonderful person to have around on your special day! big love, k! -maddy & dan

What can we say about karen and the way she performs her ceremonies apart from...perfection! her warmth, sentiment, general loveliness and way of speaking/ delivering her ceremonies is beyond anything we could ever dream for a wedding ceremony. it was so personal and special to us. she had everyone in tears including me (the bride) the entire time! everyone was commenting on how brilliant everything about the ceremony (especially the delivery from karen) was and it's still the biggest compliment we're getting days and days later. we were so chuffed when karen said she was free on the day of our wedding and couldn't be happier with the whole process from then on. we felt like we had a constant cheerleader there if we needed anything or had any questions! if you're interested in a humanist ceremony...karen is your gal! we would highly, highly, highly recommend! thank you again karen. lots of love- jim & sj

Karen was an absolute dream to work with and made our elopement a true fairytale! karen was very professional and organized during the planning process, while making everything fun along the way. the day of our ceremony, my parents both thought one of our friends must have surprised us at the ceremony the way we greeted each other...but really it was just the first time we met karen in person! it truly felt like we had known her forever. she was on board with walking what felt like 1,000 stairs to our ceremony spot (sorry about that). the ceremony itself was so personal and special. she incorporated the information we shared with her about ourselves seamlessly. my friends and family have asked what my favorite part of our wedding day was, and it was definitely the wedding ceremony itself. we exchanged vows and performed a hand fasting ceremony. everything was very fun and emotional and so so happy! karen was a huge part of one of our most favorite days of our lives, and we cannot thank her enough!

Karen!!! an absolutely amazing celebrant and gal! she made our day perfect and our ceremony super special with her eloquent way with words. she's super funny, sweet, and made us feel so comfortable. also gave great recs for areas to visit for a pint and go out. highly recommend!!
