Free entry - donation pot by the door. visited blackburn museum on thursday and it was a very pleasant surprise 😊 the staff were brilliant and had lots of information on things on display. a great place to take the children. they literally have a bit of everything and the greek coin display wall is fantastic! i enjoyed looking at the art which they have. it's in excellent condition and very bright. the egyptian section has some very interesting item but i think the mummy and mummy head should be returned to the egyptian museum in cairo. if your interested in 15th century books they have a good selection also a torah scroll from the 18th century. a good section of the museum deals with the industrial revolution and they house some large weaving machines. i i carn't believe it's free 😊 make sure you visit and if your a family with kids get them down there for a wonderful day out! 10 out of 10 blackburn museum you deserve it and all the dedication and hard work you've put in are obvious to see! a big massive thank you! 😊💛
It's a small but lovely museum. good eclectic collection. i enjoyed painting gallery. ladies working there were also very nice.
Such a nice way to spend a few hours on a rainy day.. amazing taxidermy! beautiful art and interesting displays.. all free very intriguing egyptian display with its own authentic mummy !
An absolutely fantastic hour spent looking at the history of blackburn as well as some natural history and egyptian artefacts. all very well presented in a clean environment. the staff are friendly and very helpful with any questions. photography is allowed with no flashes which isn't a problem as most things are well lit. free to enter but a donation station is there on the way out. all in all, a solid 4½ out of 5 stars. ☆☆☆☆☆
