Decent sized park, two separate play areas to suit all ages.... woods/scenic routes to go on long walks, lily pond.......but toilets dirty, cafe not open often and the stables/animal pens rarely open/used these days.
Went to the easter fair. went early in the day so it wasn’t overly busy. lots of families so it was really nice. prices were fair and the attendants were having a laugh. nice day out with the family. even won a fish! a real fish!
Had a day out with the family today and had a lovely time. the weather was amazing and so was the company. there are several car parks with several disabled parking which is free for blue badge holders and £2 for the day for everyone else which is very reasonable. as for the park, it's very clean and tidy. plenty of bins and loads of benches for you to rest on. several play areas for the children to enjoy with climbing frames, swings etc. we went to the on site café and something to eat and it's nothing to write home about. the food was okay but definitely not worth the price we paid. the drinks were okay but delivered about 20 minutes before the food. they are dog friendly as long as they are on leads and behave themselves. it's a bit cramped inside but there is plenty of outside seating. there are toilets round the sides of the café. i didn't go in so can't comment. the paths we used were pram and wheelchair friendly, maybe a little bumpy though. there's a river that is accessible so you can cool your dogs down in. lots of open fields to let the kids run wild and tire themselves out. all in all it was a good day and would definitely recommend. plenty if picnic benches dotted around.
Beautiful park.. only thing that let's it down is the huge . and i mean huge potholes on the car park (tower rd ) although it is free to park here however the witton entrance parking area is payable .. apart from that i feel very lucky to live near such a beautiful area . the easter fair was setting up which was great to see . the visitor centre was closed but i was still able to wander around the outbuildings .
We parked in tower road carpark which is free. theres an ice cream van at the carpark (which is alot cheaper than the rip off cafe they have in the park). the kids play area was so disappointing it was all fenced off with danger signs so was a completely wasted journey. nice place for a walk and there was some children playing in the river but don't head here with a playground in mind.
