Tacos seemed authentic, nachos were pretty good too, but the drinks were the stars of the show. can see why they make it to the top cocktail bars of the uk list - would definitely love to revisit for the fantastic collection of cocktails!
Updated on 15th september thank you trevor for your speedy response on this issue and processing a refund which has been successfully received. we are glad this issue was solved in such a timely manner. thank you! 13th september around 19:30 me and my bf went here for dinner. the food was great and the atmosphere was nice. it was supposed to be a lovely dinning experience however we were over charged by 6.20 for something we never ordered. (we ordered half pint of draught beer but were charged for additional 1 full pint) unfortunately when we realized it, it was too late and we had gotten back home which is too far to travel back. we tried to contact the restaurant by phone, by email and even by facebook but they never answer which is really frustrating. i would recommend their food but it is better to double check your receipt.
Great food, reasonable service. a dirty glass… with the £35 bottle of prosecco? not impressive. i ordered two plates of (delicious) tacos. one set came on a plate. the other set arrived on a cardboard box. £10 for 3 tacos which can’t be served to me on an actual plate? if i want food served street food style, i’ll go to the street. according to the waiter, if plates aren’t available then meals are served on cardboard. odd, given that in a friday night, at less than 50% capacity, plates weren’t available. 👍
My brother and i turned up without a booking on saturday evening, and the staff put effort into accommodating us. the staff were friendly and welcoming and showed us the happy hour cocktails, which were so good. the food comes out in a sort of meze style (no starters or mains) just ad hoc. the only 2 gripes were; the prawn tacos were pretty cold, and i thought they might be a little more substantial. the other gripe was something ordered, was not bought to the table. the bill was quickly rectified when we told the staff. as with every restaurant, cocktails bump up the cost, but the food was a reasonable price and quality. plus, we all deserve a cocktail every now and then!
We had a fantastic evening at ojo rojo. the cocktails, while a little pricy are a must have! the tacos are decent, but the nachos are fabulous. the staff is friendly and welcoming, and antonio was superb.
