A proper fish and chip restaurant. we got a good table as soon as we walked in. we we're served very quickly, we chose "fred's feast" for £17 we had a generous portion of cod, chips and peas, a glass of wine, half a small baguette, a cup of tea or coffee and 2 jugs of water, still & sparkling. i have to say, it was an amazing meal. cooked to perfection, not greasy, and very tasty. the service was exceptional. the loos we're very clean. we will definitely vist again.
We have just had a lovely fish lunch deal at chez fred's. their maitre d took our names and we waited for only 10 mins for a table. the restaurant is obviously incredibly popular. we were served by marcie who was polite and helpful with great care to our needs. i had a cod lunch with unlimited chips (which is a great idea as it meant that they didn't cram loads of chips into my plate, which always puts me off). i also had normal peas not mushy. i had a small glass of wine and then a pot of tea after for £17.95. excellent value. i highly recommend this restaurant and this was definitely the best fish and chips i've ever had. thank you.
Lunch the premier fish & chip shop. we know it's very popular so we decided to get there early. on arrival about 12.30 there was a queue out the door. not early enough as they open at 11.30. the wait wasn't too long, maybe 10 minutes or so. we ordered the lunchtime special £12.95 prime cod unlimited, freshly fried chips, home baked roll and butter, fred's mushy peas, plus a pot of tea or cup of filter coffee or a choice of soft drinks. including free refills of tea or filter coffee. save up to £6.00. available 11.30 am 2.00pm. service was friendly and quick. they need to be with so many wanting their fill of superb fish & chips. lunch is extremely good value, taking into account the unlimited chips & drinks. which you don't really need as the portions are very generous. well worth a visit even though there might be a queue. or get there earlier than we did.
A traditional fish and chips restaurant in bournemouth. the staff are superb and cheerful attending to customers with a high attention to detail. food is freshly cooked to order, and the batter is light. the waitress said my cod was being cooked again because the tail was broken off, demonstrating quality and care to detail to which i said don't worry so not only did my original cod arrive but also to my surprise another as well! the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere, setting itself apart from other fish and chip shops. a special thank you to vicky, and melissa who looked after us. you can't reserve tables, so i would advise arriving early in the evening. otherwise, expect up to 1 hours wait. on street parking only. certainly one of the best fish and chip restaurants in the uk.
A superb fish and chips restaurant! the staff here are really welcoming and attentive, we got seated quickly and we had our orders taken shortly after. the restaurant itself is well decorated. there is a good selection of fish, with specials and catch of the days. there is an option for unlimited chips, which i obviously went for to make the most of this amazing curry sauce that i got on the side. other condiments come with the meal, but the curry sauce is worth every penny. the haddock i had was seasoned well and the batter was crisp and crunchy. we also had the soft serve ice cream and it was a lovely way to finish the meal, being a refreshing pallette cleanser. i would come back here for the curry sauce alone.
