Lovely little spa attached to the gomersal park hotel. went for an afternoon tea experience including a wonderful lunch and a 55 minute treatment. (choice of a facial or full body massage) the spa area is in the centre of the complex, a tad small compared to some i’ve been to, consisting of two foot spas with heated ceramic benches, a steam room, dry sauna, outdoor hot tub, ice fountain, hot and cold feature showers, relaxation room and a small pool with a second sauna. i think there was a gym also, but we didn’t venture that way. the main part of the spa seems to be the treatment rooms, i believe there were 8 in total. i had a lovely full body massage and the lady was very polite and professional, making sure i was comfortable and enjoying the experience. the whole place did feel just slightly colder than we’d have liked when coming out of the sauna/steam room, but it was certainly pleasant enough overall during our visit. they also have a nice little bistro cafe serving light bites, snacks and hot and cold drinks, including a small wine selection. the afternoon tea was served in the cafe area and was really lovely, the highlight of our visit, see photo. beautiful dainty sandwiches with four different fillings, a gorgeous fruit scone with cream and jam, moist brownies, chocolate eclairs, meringue nests with fresh strawberry’s, macaroons and a panna cotta on top, all served with plenty of tea or coffee throughout. all in all we had a very pleasant visit and thoroughly enjoyed our day. we will defiantly come again. thanks to all the staff for everything.
We had an amazing experience at dream spa, we booked the midweek madness. the spa facility were amazing and the bistro was fantastic. the staff were very friendly and we felt very comfortable and welcoming. definitely booking again
Was not allowed to use the pool as there was swimming lessons for the majority of our stay. they hadn’t received a robe order so we had to have extra towels. reception staff are lovely and helpful at all times. afternoon tea was outstanding and very large portions, had to take some home! had a full body massage for 50 minutes, which was bliss. all other facilities were brilliant.
Thoroughly enjoyed the spa and treatment with afternoon tea. excellent facilities made special because of the very friendly staff. everyone made us feel welcome and looked after. extra big thank you to the two women in the restaurant where we had breakfast before going in the spa, they made our day. thank you for a wonderful experience.
We paid upward of £200 for an afternoon spa and afternoon tea experience for two in september. the majority of this experience was truly fabulous. however, there were a couple of details that let it down, especially considering the price of the experience. firstly, the toilets in the ladies changing room were flooded due to a plumbing issue. whilst this was dealt with during the day. the toilet rolls are kept on stands at floor level so this led to very soggy loo roll. secondly the cucumber water and the lemon water that were provided for guests to help themselves to was really warm, and some of the cucumber slices floating in the water had turned grey as a result. when asked if there was any ice the member of staff was really apologetic when she said there was none available. finally, the afternoon tea was incredibly disappointing. there were four sandwiches (ham, cheese, egg and tuna). three of these, whilst basic were tasty. the tuna one, however, could hardly be described as a tuna sandwich as it contained so little filling. the cake selection was pleasant enough, but clearly shop bought including a slice of chocolate fudge cake which had been cut in half to give the appearance of two separate cakes. finally, and most disappointing of all was the scone which had been cut in half with the whipped cream piped in prior to service. this would be okay if served fresh, but it had clearly been allowed to sit like this for far too long as both the scone and the cream were stale - so much so that the cream had turned yellow. for the price of the day, i would expect the afternoon tea to be of premium quality so this was really disappointing. in contrast , my sister ordered off the bistro menu due to allergies and was provided with a meal that met her quite complex needs. this food was amazing!! despite a few issues we had a wonderful time. the staff are all exceptional and couldn’t do more to help. the treatments were wonderful and really relaxing with staff who are really caring. the facilities are ideal for an afternoon of relaxation. what also made the day feel special was that the number of guests was small so we really felt able to relax and enjoy the facilities at our own pace. my advice therefore would be book the spa day- but order off menu and avoid the afternoon tea.
