My first visit to the new shop. the cod was lovely. freshly cooked with thin crisp batter. staff were friendly and helpful. will definitely visit again.
Whilst appreciating their costs have risen, their prices have risen to reflect these increased costs. a large portion of chips has gone down in size over time but the cost has risen and doesn’t reflect good value any longer. there’s always lots of small crunchy bits, perhaps the chips are being cut smaller. it’s a shame as the people who work there are very friendly. just be aware you have to spend more money there.
I recently visited flying fish restaurant and had a mixed experience. while the chicken burger was enjoyable, the overall value left something to be desired. let's start with the positives. the chicken burger was delicious! the meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. the toppings were fresh, and the bun was nicely toasted. it's definitely a standout item on their menu. however, my experience with the haddock was a bit underwhelming. the fish itself was okay, but what disappointed me was that they didn't include chips with it. i had to purchase chips separately, which added to the overall cost. this felt like an unnecessary additional expense, as most fish and chips places typically include chips with their fish dishes. speaking of cost, i found flying fish restaurant to be a bit pricey compared to other fish and chips stores in both london and brentwood. the quality of the food was decent, but it didn't quite justify the higher price point. despite these concerns, i must say that the service was friendly and attentive. the staff was accommodating, and the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance. it's just a shame that the overall value for money fell short of my expectations. if you're in the mood for a fantastic chicken burger, i would definitely recommend giving flying fish restaurant a try. however, if you're specifically looking for fish and chips, there are more affordable options available in the area. note: this review is based on my personal experience and individual preferences, and others may have different opinions
Flying fish and chip shop serves a delightful culinary experience. the cod was beautifully cooked, flaky, and full of flavor while the chips were golden and crisp. their curry sauce added a unique, tangy spin, rounding out a truly classic meal. they also made a commendable effort to set up an outdoor table, ensuring my meal was served hot and fresh, adding a personal touch to their excellent customer service. definitely a spot to revisit for some delicious fish and chips.
