Great hotel, my wife took me as a birthday treat. outdoor swimming pool was heated to a lovely 31’c, grounds around the hotel are lovely, the hotel itself has a great blend of classic architecture with modern crushed velvet. staff are exceptional, friendly and attentive. fully recommend a yamazaki with one cube from the bar. rooms, our particular room wasn’t anything overly special, but none the less it was still very nice, cosy, clean, shower was hot, and we had excellent views of the gardens and outdoor pool, it had everything that you would expect. also the staff had laid on petals, balloons, and chocolates as per my wife’s request 👌🏽 other rooms and suites are available for more money of course. restaurant was top class, again staff were friendly and knew their job very well. food was as expected for the quality of the hotel ‘outstanding’ i had the rib eye steak (firm favourite of mine), not only a safe option but a good way to judge the kitchen, and i tell you now they know how to cook a medium/rare rib eye 👌🏽my only criticism would be the peppercorn sauce, it was very runny and extremely salty. fortunately i believe a good steak requires no sauce and on this occasion it wasn’t required. poked my head in the gym, it is above basic but not much more, i’ve seen far worse at more expensive hotels, so if you are one of these people that just can’t miss a workout, then you’re more than catered for, for a good all round workout. spa offered plenty of services and had a good flow of clients coming and going. swimming pool as stated was heated to 31’c perfect for a dip no matter the weather, after 3/4pm ish it gets busy with new check inns which was nice because prior to that it was a bit quiet, i’d say including my wife and i there was an estimated 15 people in and around the pool. warning, the stairs are on the deep end. (not sure why) but it did catch a couple of dads out with their babies in arms going in. although the depths are posted it just feels natural to enter via the steps and it’s straight into 2.0m so just be aware. other than that it’s a lovely clean, warm pool. will be visiting again soon, such a shame it is closing down this year.
We had a beautiful 3 day stay at this manor. the staff were so friendly and accommodating considering we were a group of 16- 12 teenagers and 4 adults. all the facilities were available to us and we were given free drink vouchers for every day of our stay. we absolutely enjoyed our stay. it's such a shame they will be closing down in october.
Lovely hotel, lots of parking. room was spacious and decorated well. bathroom was spacious. toilet seat could have done with a deep clean. staff were lovely. we had dinner at the hotel portions were not that big but it was a nice meal (i'm going to put the portion size down to being ravenous that day ☺️ not knocking the hotel for that at all) breakfast was nice, i had the full english. great portion size and continental available for a top up. overall i would love to visit again. town has some nice restaurants and a bit of night life.
Really liked the hotel. a group of us met up and they were really accommodating with trying to get us all as close as possible. considering the hotel is closing down soon everything seemed to be running smoothly. the lift wasn't working so that tested out our muscles shifting cases for the members who had travelled from the usa/canada! one of our party had mobility issues so stepping into a bath for a shower was a huge issue. there were 2 double rooms with walk in showers and luckily one was free so we could swap our room so the other person could just come to use our shower. it wasn't needed but the red emergency pull cords in the room weren't long enough. if you fell on the floor there is no way you could reach them. also the pool area, gym and spa were all down steps. there was no slope. it wasn't a huge issue for us but if you had mobility issues it would have been an issue. i went into the gym and the running machine wasn't working but there was other stuff to use. the pool was lovely. i was in there at 8am one morning when it was drizzling and it was nice and warm. the steps to get out are at the deep end, 7ft so for people who don't like going out their depth they need to jump out the shallow end. or get helped out. the nature reserve was nice, and peaceful. the car park was huge and no problem parking. the hotel was clean and the rooms were tidy and smelt fresh. the staff were great. we had a group of us eating and all 22x three course meals came out without an issue. i would definitely return for another visit. it's a shame it is closing as it is a lovely hotel. individual and not part of a chain.
We stayed at the de rougemont manor for a weekend break. we really loved the peaceful location and character of the property. we found our room to be a good size, clean and prepped with a travel cot. we hadn’t specified we needed one so that proactive touch was really appreciated. the staff were very helpful and friendly. sabrina and helen in particular were lovely and made sure we had high chairs, and finger food for our baby (even offering a quick cuddle so i had both hands free to quickly eat a bit if dinner!) to keep her entertained while we had our breakfast and dinner. i also had a lovely massage at the spa on site which was very relaxing. would recommend and look forward to visiting again.
