Travelodge Brentwood East Horndon

Clean, basic and perfectly acceptable. Staff welcoming and helpful. Sometimes can hear outside noise but overall not intrusive

The room was fine but too warm. The windows opened but road noise from outside meant we couldn't have them open overnight. The Halfway House pub is virtually next-door and was a really good place to eat.

Well run, Travelodge. Clean and tidy. It does its job perfectly, somewhere to sleep in a budget. The concierge staff were welcoming, helpful, and diligent, making the best stay for you. My visit took place on a very hot day. The staff even went to the effort of closing curtains and opening windows to keep the room as cool as possible. Travelodge should invest in upgrading their hotels with air con. It would be a welcome addition to their service. Being located on one side of the A127 means that depending on where you were getting to and from you may have to travel several miles in either direction to the next exit to get in and out. Being next to a Starbucks and a pub was ideal. 😁

A very nice room. Down side is if you have a room near or over looking the entrance you will have staff and guests chatting and smoking. I'm sure it would not be a problem during colder months as you would have the window closed but in the summer you would have to have the window open as the hotel rooms don't have air-conditioning.

Did the job. Booked last minute as needed somewhere local to our job. Was surprised when I arrived as I was expecting it to be in Brentwood but it was in the middle of nowhere, on the A127. On the plus side, plenty of free parking, my room was quiet despite the proximity to the dual carriageway, nice check in staff and at £61 it was cheap. On the downside, not much food options around, big winter duvet and humidity make you sweat at night. Would I come back? If I was working locally again, I suppose yes, it was OK.
