Sanctuary Lodge saved my life! When I entered Sanctuary, I didn’t know what to expect but I knew I needed to remove myself from my own bubble and begin my journey of recovery because I couldn’t carry on living in the destruction, shame, guilt and despair of my addiction anymore…… it was sanctuary who opened my eyes to my addiction. The warmth, love, care and consideration and above all understanding that the staff at sanctuary offered me was and still is (after 18 months clean) without a doubt why I am living my best life now. The support and therapy offered with love and no shame was paramount. The knowledge I gained about my addiction is invaluable. All the staff were committed to helping me help myself. It’s a beautiful setting and the day I walked through those doors was the day my life began. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious and the food was outstanding! I had my first “belly” laugh, which I hadn’t experienced for many years, at sanctuary. The connection with the other clients there was my first experience of being around other addicts……. And let me tell you, THAT is a beautiful experience and gift. I was allowed to be me. I am still in touch with lots of friends who were in sanctuary with me and that shared experience will be something I never forget and I will be forever grateful to Sanctuary Lodges staff for being able to share their experiences and knowledge and offering the setting. After deciding I needed to go to rehab, I had a thorough and detailed telephone assessment the day before I arrived. Upon arrival I was greeted by two compassionate, and caring members of staff, who despite my distress, put me immediately at ease. During my time at sanctuary lodge I was given incredible support by management, therapists and support workers. My own room and the communal areas were spotless at all times, and the food was beautiful. The group therapies aided me in my recovery and were complimented by sessions of acupuncture, gong therapy, yoga and meditation. I highly recommended Sanctuary Lodge and want to thank all the staff.

The Sanctuary Lodge has opened my eyes to so many things. I originally booked my treatment for four weeks but have recently extended my stay as the improvement in my understanding of the addiction is so clear. On arrival I was welcomed and out instantly at ease. The staff are all exceptional in their own roles. The therapists to the support team, chef and cleaning staff have made me feel supported and had fair and firm boundaries my recovery. It has given me the chance at life and for the first time in a long time so see the hope and positivity they have inspired in me.

I am 14 days into my 28 day stay at Sanctuary Lodge. I cannot speak highly enough of my treatment thus far. Firstly the staff here, from Shannon in Admin to Ella in support and all the other staff members led by the attentive Maria are all excellent and make the recovery journey much easier. The group therapy sessions and very insightful, sometime deep and extremely helpful in understanding the illness that is addiction. The treatment has the right balance of fixed routine, structure and an element of freedom - it is rehab after all! The food is delicious, building spotless and grounds very nice. All in all a very good experience and I’m looking forward to seeing through the balance of my treatment.
