Shambolic doesn’t cover it. Ordered over £2k of carpet from SCS Bridgend for a new build property, which included “free fitting”. Carpet fitter arranged via SCS and we were told they would shave doors if needed albeit at an extra cost. Upgraded to chrome door runners at nearly £40 a piece. Carpets were fitted to an appalling standard. The stairway was so bad, they’d actually stuck a little piece of carpet into gap where the carpet had been cut short in order to try to cover it up! Every stair had damage to the woodwork on both sides, door frames had been scraped leaving dents in the wood and paint flakes on the floor, door runners were deeply scratched by what I assume to be the blade used for cutting as well as badly cut leaving sharp metal edges that have left jagged grooves in the inner door frames. The wrong door runners were supplied for 2 of the rooms. The upgraded runners that were recommended are hardly visible due to the thickness of the carpet. What was visible though was the stickers he didn’t even bother to remove, which you can see in the photo along with the scratch. Every room is lumpy where the carpet hasn’t been stretched including stairway. The carpet fitter also refused to shave the doors. Before leaving our property, he was insistent on being paid in cash and when asked for a receipt he said “SCS provide this” which was a lie. (The “free fitting” comes off the cost of the carpet but you still have to pay the fitter separately - dodgy as hell) We had an inspector out the very next day who agreed with our concerns, and explained that we would have his report within 3 days. That was on Saturday 15th, and we are still waiting for the report. SCS are refusing to act until they have the report from the inspector, who has since gone on annual leave!! We are also being told that the original carpet fitter is responsible for fixing the issues and we have to claim through his insurance which may take weeks. Meanwhile we are left with no doors on any rooms, and unable to move furniture in until the carpets are stretched properly, plus having to look at unsightly damage to all woodwork and walls in a brand new house! After chasing SCS over 10 times, today I have been told that whilst they are still waiting for the report, they will arrange for a different fitter to stretch the rooms, but they will still not be shaving the doors, and we will still have to wait for the landing and stairway to be replaced plus the correct door runners and the damages to be corrected, and despite ALL this, SCS are refusing to offer any form of compensation or responsibility for the extreme inconvenience this has caused whilst moving house plus the stress of it all. AVOID AVOID AVOID Edit** since writing the above, the second fitter came to restretch the carpets and highlighted more faults. The initial fitter had sneakily used two different thicknesses of underlay in the same room and also fitted gripper rods either side of the door runners which is why I could feel sharp bits when entering rooms! SCS have failed at every promised call back since the 15th May. They finally had the report from the inspector on the 25th May, promised yet another callback. I chased AGAIN on the 28th and was told we’d be updated by the ops manager within 48 hours. We are now 4th June and haven’t heard anything. Still without doors, still without replacement carpet, still without correct/replaced runners.

Worst flooring experience of my life. We spent hours on the phone to change addresses from our old house to new house when reiteraring with the sales advisor what the situation was. We were told the fitting price was included, and when this was booked we were told we had to pay the fitter as they're self-employed. Baring in mind we also had to pay another fitter to fit the vinyl and laminate as they don't do this... The surveyor never measured our cupboards, or downstairs bathroom, despite us providing floor plans and writing down exactly what flooring was going where, and confirming this with the sales advisor over the phone the day before the surveyor went out to measure the property! As a result, the sales advisor didn't order any of this for us, despite confirming it over the phone with me which is weird? No extra wastage was allowed for our downstairs fitter, meaning our cupboard has tiny patches of laminate to finish the job, which looks ridiculous. Our scotias were not matched correctly for our kitchen flooring, we have light grey/beige flooring with bright grey scotias with dark black running through them, meaning they have to be ripped out and will damage our skirting boards (we were never presented with any options). They forgot to order floor bars for our downstairs, so we had to pay for these on the day. The list goes on and on... Our vinyl got fitted and they have cut it too short, leaving gaps beside our bath panel and completely botched it behind our sink and toilet. The store manager was extremely patronising to me, and would not listen to any of these concerns I raised. He only listened when he was passed on to my male partner, which in this day and age is absolutely RIDICULOUS, especially when I was spelling out each and every issue to him. He just couldn't comprehend it. We have not been compensated for any of these issues, only our vinyl and other materials being ordered due to their mistakes. We now have to pay extra money to get these missed items fitted, and to top it off our vinyl in the bathroom was not sealed around the edges, toilet or sink so water can get underneath it and damage the floor boards. Worst company ever for flooring and I would not recommend anyone touching them with a pole. We now have to spend our spare time trying to sort all of these issues, instead of enjoying our new home as first-time buyers. Thank you ScS for ruining the entire experience, and offering no solutions to our problems. AVOID AT ALL COSTS FOR FLOORING!!! On the other hand Andrew @ ScS Bridgend was great at sorting our sofas, and knows exactly how to do his job :)

The men in the shop was Really helpful, given us Great Deal we have Come here many times in the past for our carpet and floors. The men's who put our floor down and carpet did really good job also they hover atherwad Which is Brilliant. But they do not take the old carpet with them or some of the the carpet and floor leftover but I suppose some do not do it or they probably cost you for them to take way.

It was the first time out for myself and daughter so worried a bit about going into the store and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by member of staff Mark and put at ease as he told us about all the measures put in place and how safe it is. We could take our time and look and sit on all the sofas that we liked. When we found our sofa Mark made it quick and easy going through everything and all done with all safety measures. Well done ScS 👍 🚩🚩🚩Update from delivery 2nd October🚩🚩🚩 Downgraded stars to 1 as it won't go lower. Have so many issues with sofa and chair have asked for refund only to be told it needs an inspection report and they will decide from that, even though I can have a refund as stated in consumer goods act 2015 Have to wait until 16th November for them to come inspect it. This was made in such a rush to get it out it was not checked by quality control as it should never have been sent out. Not made by SCS out sourced manufacturers. Spoke to advisor and listed problems 15 in total and got a sarcastic is that all reply. Found a few more since. Supporting leg in the middle of sofa 1" off the floor so supporting thin air. Hopefully this will help you decide if you really want to buy from them and good luck if you do.

My store assistant was Lyn she was exceptional helpful and pleasant when I went in to chose a sofa giving plenty of advice with out being pushy And plenty of advice on the after care of my new sofa ...thank you to Lyn :- )
