A lovely late lunch i on this place, attentive and polite staff being professional throughout. rather busy place that’s managing it well and all our requests orders were fulfilled promptly . delicious fish and chips super fresh haddock.
I came here for lunch with my friend and we were not disappointed. the service was immaculate and we had help ordering 4 starters and the octopus main to share. there was plenty of food and it came out perfectly. i love seafood and the octopus and scallops were fantastic. i would highly recommend for a lunch and the price was worth it.
Went here for a meal. expecting great things. starters were poor ? large king prawns & chorizo. umm not impressed. 4 small prawns & some slices of chorizo. partner had fresh dressed crab salad. umm came out small amount of crab on a 2" stack of potato salad more potato than crab. mains surf & turf. 2 x 7oz sirloin steaks fantastic. however lobster only half meat in shell. eaten lobster for decades. we didn't order lobster tails. yes meat in body of shell is mixed but there is still meat there. as explained to waitress. dessert salted caramel porfiteroles solid frozen. not sticky chocolate on top as should be? i ordered poached pineapple i rum and lime & coconut. took ages to come out. pineapple was rock solid . where's the poached part soft & juicy. small pot of sauce with it. tasted like dishwater. looked great to the eye . awful. had a full refund on desserts. shocking. in all poor show as meal was £170. will not return. could be so much better.
Our server maz was excellent. i had the mushrooms on sourdough as a starter. my husband had the parsnips & apple soup, which was disappointing. we all had the smoked haddock fishcakes which were delicious. i had the melt in your mouth chocolate fondant. my husband had a decadent cappichino.
First time in browns, took my wife for her birthday. excellent service, we were looked after by chrissie, making sure all was ok, but never pestering. food was superb, 3 courses, just the right amount of time between courses when pudding was served, chrissie had put a lit candle on one of the deserts!, and the chef had written 'happy b day' on the plate in chocolate! ...we both sang happy birthday of course! a real nice touch.. an excellent experience, very professional and will be calling again next time we're in brighton!
