Delicious fish and chips. the batter was perfect - not too thick or over-crisp - moist fish, and great chips. well worth the 15 minute wait for the takeaway.
Fantastic fish and chips with curry sauce and mushy pees. in fairness, i don’t know what constitutes good mushy pees, but they were radioactive green, had the consistency of baby food and tasted like peas so i assume they were good. the fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and the chips were 100% carb goodness. staff were attentive albeit a bit reserved.
Really tasty old school fish & chips. warm friendly service for sit in at one of their chunky pine tables, or get it to go. the batter is thick and crispy, and the chips are nice and chunky.
Didn’t want to get caught out by going straight to the sea front where you should get the best food and service but rarely do. bardsleys is quite a walk from the water but worth the effort. maybe its a sign of the times but the prices seemed to be high, but i cannot compare this as we didn’t even look at other places. we varied our choices between haddock and cod and went for the large portion, which didn’t seem to be much larger than the medium portion to be honest. added to this we had peas and mushy peas. well have to say we were all happy. some of the best meaty moist white fish with great batter. chips were also very good and the portions size was great. our waitress was bev, bit of banter bit of a chat made the experience even better. thanks! so would happily recommend this place to anyone going to brighton.
Fish cooked beautifully. you choose fried, grilled or poached. i had the special grilled and loved it. all five of us very happy. some veggie options. beer wine and spirits. call ahead to be sure of a table, but walk-ins available.
