ibis Brighton City Centre - Station

Very well located hotel, it has a bar and excellent breakfast. Despite being full of people in the mornings you could find all kinds of food for breakfast. Competent staff and clean rooms. It may be a bit too close to the train station and it can get busy. Plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. A 15 minutes walk away from the beach.

Sad to say our visit at Ibis Brighton didn't measure up. The room was not properly cleaned and we were missing towels. We payed £40 extra to have our dogs with us for two nights (which is absolutely fair enough) but got the feeling they didn't bother cleaning the room properly since dogs were gonna stay there anyway. Dust under the bed and dirt on the flusher in the bathroom. The location of the hotel is very central, right by the train station and within waking distance to the beach. The hotel itself feels fairly modern and the beds are comfy. Staff were friendly enough. We only used the hotel for sleeping and didn't not have breakfast. It smelled wonderful though.

It’s an OK hotel. The breakfast satisfied our expectations. Everything else felt cheap. The rooms were not very clean, they were missing basic things, bathroom of a minimum size. I guess for the price is ok, nothing special. Some of the people at the reception were very professional, but a couple couldn’t prepare a coffee.

Location and staff are great, shame the rooms are so average. I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times and am likely to stay there again if the price is right. The location is great - it’s literally just by the station. Staff were super efficient and gave me my key very quickly on arrival as I had checked in online. The decor of the lobby and bar is nice and the vibe is good. However, the rooms are disappointingly average, even for an ibis - they are more of an ibis budget standard, but obviously without the price tag, even though my room was okay value for money at Summer Brighton hotel rates. The bathroom is small (as is common with ibis), the decor fairly plain. There were no real curtains as such, but 3 sort of static fabric blinds that you could pull across the window - it’s a quiet area with no real outside lights shining in, so these did the job, but the effect on the room was to cheapen it. The Bed looked fairly cheap too by the looks of things, but I did have a comfortable night’s sleep. The TV was very basic with no ability to cast to it. Ultimately, I think that the rooms whilst clean, could do with a bit of investment and an update to bring themselves up a notch or two to bring it up to the standard befitting of its location and it’s well trained staff.
