A fantastic day out! located just off the m5, the wild place project is home to a variety of interesting animals and birds including bears, lemurs and ostriches. thoroughly enjoyed the animal talks, and learning about some unusual and endangered species. a particular highlight was bear woods - a great view of the bears, wolves, wolverines and lynxes. lovely cafes, picnic spots and and playgrounds - fun for the whole family.
Absolutely loved our visit here. easy to purchase tickets even on the same day. staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. the majority of the park is accessible and easy to walk around. plenty of toilets on site, an on site cafe that wasn't too overly priced like some of the bigger zoos. all of the animals were well looked after has really large enclosures with all of the necessary and this showed in how active and true to their wild siblings they were. we managed to spot all of the bears playing with each other, lemurs bouncing around, giraffes feeding. all animals active and seemed happy no pacing or otherwise. a great place will definitely visit again if were ever in the area.
This place is wonderful! nice and natural environments for all animals. bear wood in particular was our favourite.. once we walked around the park we decided to come back and revisit bear wood just before we left because we loved it so much. first time seeing bears up close, they had a huge enclosure! i mean.. massive! there were also wolves and wolverines in bear wood who also looked content with their environment. you could tell they are well looked after with lots to do and lots of natural places to hide and play. all the animals we saw on our visit were easy to view up close. there is a lot of walking which may not be for everyone and a lot of it can be dirt/muddy paths but we felt that added to the overall 'natural' feeling to the park. it's nice to not see animals surrounded by glass and concrete. overall, a lovely day out surrounded by beautiful nature and well looked after animals. we will be back 😊
Went on a friend's recommendation and it was brilliant. i'm not a fan of a zoo but this does not feel like one the habitats for the animals has been so well thought about and they all appear to be very happy especially the bears who we found playing in their water. i had a great time and will definitely be recommending it to all i know.
Impromptu visit to the wild place project was a great choice. this is a great place to take your family. plenty of space to explore and you get really close to the animals and nature. the walkways and glass viewing areas really enhance the experience and ability to get close to the animals. lots of places to stop and enjoy your picnic but also lovely places to eat on site. we had a freshly cooked pizza watching the cheetah and both were amazing 🤩.
