Kip McGrath Bristol North - English and Maths Tuition

Brioney's tutor was Jay. When we started, the focus was to prepare my daughter for entrance exams into private schools. The tutor focused on the content of the exam with lots of practice of previous exam questions. Jay is very helpful and was very patient to listen to my opinion as a parent. My daughter passed the entrance exams and had a bursary in one of them. Her confidence grew and since then, even her friends and teacher confirm that she's smarter than before. Thank you Jay. My son enrolled with Kip McGrath few months before his GCSEs to get some extra help in passing. Was such an amazing experience working with them. Very kind and understanding. I thought I would share my experience of Kip McGrath. My son had previously attended this centre for approximately 8 months. When I originally signed him up, I stated that I wanted him to be prepared for the private school examinations in January. After an initial assessment Jay thought it would be best for him to focus on English, as he thought this was his weaker area, rather than Maths. On numerous occasions I checked in with his progress and when he didn't understand some of his maths homework or his teacher at school said he had struggled with a maths topic. I relayed that to Jay and his tutor. Long short of it. I didn't feel they prepares him for the up coming January entrance exams. He did not verbal or non verbal reasoning practice or Maths. When I had a chat with Jay, for advice. I found him to be very patronising and discouraging towards my son's ability and I didn't really think they listened to my goals. When discussing it with a work colleague he said similar things and said he also took his child out. This confirmed to me that I had done the right thing. With all that money spent I have found a one to one tutor for near enough the same money. It's very important to read reviews, and ask around and to take recommendations.

Jay and the team have been an amazing support to my son this last academic year. They really took the time to get to know him as an individual and his learning abilities/needs. The online sessions worked perfectly for us as a family and although I was unsure about them at the start it definitely didn’t affect the quality of learning. My son really enjoyed the personal touches, a birthday card and medals and certificates in the post, which would always boost his confidence. I would definitely recommend KIP as they helped my son grow in confidence and achieve his goals this year.
