When people say "greasy spoon", it may sound like an insult to any visitor to our island, but we we mean it more as a term of endearment... a positive categorization all good englishmen and women understand and appreciate. we mean a independently run cafe that does tasty comfort food well, quickly, with a smile and always within a relaxed atmosphere. this cafe is the perfect example of a good old english greasey spoon. the lady at the pans was quick, kind and on the ball. the gentlment on the drinks was charming and efficient. if you're a lover, like i am, of a tradition english cafe, a quentisential "greasy spoon" , then this is the one to visit when you're in bury. bury itself is quite a nice town, and i'd recommend half a day there if you're in the area. a whole day if you ride the old railway, which is worth it! start or take lunch at this cafe nonetheless.
