Greenmount Maths Tutor

I can’t thank marek enough for all the help i’ve had over the last 18 months. my first lesson was due as the first covid lockdown started and marek didn’t waste any time in getting the necessary technology in place to make sure he could meet me virtually every week to provide an extremely valuable online lesson for a level maths. he has a way of explaining very complex mathematical concepts, that seem alienated to me in class, in a simple but detailed manner. without his help i can’t imagine i would be able to even contemplate sitting a level exams. thank you so much for your help and i’m going to miss our weekly catch ups.

Maths is a subject everyone says they’re not good at because that’s what their parents say but i found it’s all about confidence and methodology. marek takes the time to work on both and showed great empathy whenever i found something tricky. during covid times he provided a lifeline for my maths a level and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him as a tutor. he went out of his way to ensure i had all the resources i needed and provided support through giving lots of examples and reviewing many past papers on a one to one basis. he made maths enjoyable and real and equipped me for whatever the exams would throw at me. he also has skills to support those less able and worked with my brother though his maths gcse to get him an unexpected pass so definitely a tutor to use!

Marek has been absolutely fantastic with our son! his teaching skills are first class and he has been a much valued support to our son as he has studied for his maths a level through the covid lockdowns. marek quickly put the technology in place(he could even see what our son was writing and make immediate corrections!) for him to deliver lessons virtually that were of a very high standard. we can’t thank him enough 😊

Online teaching worked brilliantly for me and the white board notes made during the sessions were extremely useful. marek was great at explaining concepts, and giving me appropriate level questions to check my understanding and build my confidence so that i could eventually do the harder a-level exam questions. sessions were well planned to ensure we covered all the topics well before the exams. however marek was also very willing to move onto or back to trickier topics i was covering in school. he was also happy to help me solve tricky homework questions. knowing that i could always sort out any difficulties with marek reduced the pressure in school lessons and meant i could understand and learn more effectively in school as well.

Marek provided my son a ‘safe space’ to take his time understanding each topic of his a level maths syllabus. he was excellent at engaging and encouraging my son to aim for the top grades despite his disappointing school results. he reduced my son’s anxiety and increased his confidence in his own ability. my son always finished the sessions more positive and determined to work hard to achieve an a* , which he comfortably did in august 2023. online sessions were arranged directly with my son but occasional we had to change these due to other school commitments. marek always offered alternative times which was greatly appreciated , as was the extra support he provide during the long study leave before and between the final a level exams. marek was also very willing to give me candid feedback on my son’s progress and potential which was really helpful.
