Service was fantastic. the atmosphere was relaxed and we did not feel rushed. the log fire was a great touch, keeping us nice and warm! the menu selection was great and the food was outstanding. we both commented what a lovely evening we had. thank you
Nice looking pub, nice inside. my partner tried to order a cocktail when we arrived only to be told 'we don't do that' when asked what did he mean he response was 'we don't do that'. no explanation as to why not just very blunt. left my partner feeling stupid as if she asked for something out of the ordinary. if you don't do it then get it off the menu! very rude! the chicken pie was all puff pastry barely any filling. i ordered the hunters chicken schnitzel which tasted nice to be fair but the meal overall was small in size for the price had to order a side salad to go with it as it came with literally 2 leaves. the mains were a little bit overpriced for what they were especially the schnitzel at nearly £16 and came with a few chips. i was going to order the curry but i seen it was £17 which is unbelievable for chicken curry and rice!! the desserts were really nice though. i wouldn't come here again as i don't believe it's good value for your money. we came as a group of 6 but for my partner an myself our food came to £80. she had 2 cocktails 2 for £12 i had water. no starters. 2 mains and a dessert each, banoffee pie and a modern take on a black forest gateaux which was brilliant i loved that. and a garlic bread which is not on the menu.
Gorgeous building, friendly staff and amazing food. really enjoyed coming here for dinner. pictured is the raspberry house soda, beef dripping sandwich, strawberry bellini trifle and double chocolate brownie. very ‘posh’ but at a reasonable price! was also nice to be able to take the dog with us. looking forward to our next visit!
An amazing little find, and highly recommend. probably the best sunday lunch i've had in a very long time. food, tri meat sunday dinner / sirloin beef sunday dinner. side of cauliflower cheese and stuffing: dinners: it was delicious, every bite. nothing was done incorrectly. the meat was soft and tender, the beef was cooked perfectly. the roast potato's crunchy, the veg lovely, yorkshire pudding was airy a good size, stuffing with bacon wrapped around them were delicious. you get a small pot of gravy, which was plenty. we did ask for more, and it came instantly. mint sauce tasted home made, which i didn't expect. a weirdly odd thing which i loved how was the veg came in a separate dish on the plate, so you could share with someone or chose what you wanted from the fish. i feel this place nailed everything! and for the price, you couldn't ask for me. we paid £54; 2 dinners, 2 sides, and 2 drinks. and considering the size and quality, i would easily pay that again and again. service: polite staff, who all looked incredibly professional. we never waited long for anything, that includes our dinners. we were never rushed and felt we ordered at our own pace. atmosphere: absolutely gorgeous, from the low beam ceiling, to the firepits placed around. there was a lovely couple with a baby in a high seat, and i felt the atmosphere was so relaxed and call. bravo to the staff, chefs and owner for making an incredibly venue.
