The Prospect

Visited here for the first time today for lunch, what a beautiful place and absolutely delicious food, Lucy was a wonderful attentive host. This place has a cosy, friendly, warm atmosphere, the views over Halifax on a non foggy day will be stunning. More people need to visit this hidden gem in Halifax, Can't believe I've not been before, will definitely be back. The cheesy cottage pie croquettes with gravy mayo were an amazing starter as was the sharing camembert with mouth watering crumb top. The beef dripping fish and chips served with a tasty curry mayo and pot of mushy peas rivalled the best seaside fair! All three of us Managed to squeeze in desert and coffee too all fantastic. Thanks again to all @The Prospect, can't wait to visit again and try more dishes from your amazing menu 😊 it all looked and tasted so good I didn't get chance to take any photos, next time x

Went for a birthday meal (14 off us) and had pre ordered the food beforehand. The food was lovely, dont get me wrong about that. This is the beef sunday lunch. We had orders missing and mixed up . Staff was nice, friendly when we got hold of them. Just don't think they are used to big parties. So, service was slow on that side . Would go again, just not as big group.

Halifax your lucky to have this lovely pub , amazing food , great atmosphere and brilliant host's and staff. Wonderful views also of the Town , would highly recommend a visit. Please note the pub now has new tenants since the end of April 2023

We visited for a birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The main courses were fantastic, so tasty and the food came quick. My only criticism was the chocolate brownie that came with ice cream was cold when usually its served warm. We will be back

Went here for a family meal while some family from a while away were visiting. The food was great (I had scampi), including the Orange Chocolate Cake, which I sadly forgot to photograph. The staff were accommodating and we didn’t need to wait long at all to get our food in front of us. Despite my initial concerns regarding the menu, I found something for me. Will visit again.
