No longer free except for under 25s. Worth a visit if you're interested in art, fashion and textiles or museums in general, but not that suitable for children. A lovely, modern house with a very interesting arrangement of objects and absolutely full of artwork, of which there were some good and some not my cup of tea. The first part is guided, then you can look around freely. There is also a textiles museum area.

One of a kind art museum and home of Jim Ede. Artists were welcomed as family half a century ago, and yet we feel in their presence. The tour directors let us sit on the furniture and look at the way that the rooms speak and feel. I especially loved the small sculptures and the designs of smooth pebbles...

The most amazing, hidden gallery that I cannot recommend highly enough. The guides and staff were knowledgeable and interesting. The fact that you are encouraged to sit in the seats and view the artwork which is hung at all sorts of different heights in the wall was delightful. The colour, shape and theme links made for an additional and delightful added dimension. I absolutely loved this. Added to this, the Lucie Rie exhibition was beautiful.

Fascinating collection and combination of art and artists, giving new insight into their lives. Improved facilities haven't diluted the core space, with ambience enhanced by sensitivity from "attendants". For example the beautiful, sensitive and unique floral arrangements throughout the cottages. One could justify a visit to focus on just these arrangements and their reflection of the space.

Outstanding gallery, as well as the stunning home and collection of Jim and Helen Ede. Saw a wonderful exhibition of Palestinian tapestry and women’s craft traditions. It is certainly worth booking a time slot to go inside the house which is full of original works by Christopher Wood, Joan Miro, Henri Gaudier-Breska , and Henry Moore. It is an uplifting and stimulating space. The staff are extremely thoughtful and kind. The cafe and the cakes are great too. Can not recommend a visit here strongly enough.
