I suffer from back pain and found bed mattress are too firm and could not sleep at night. also asked for room to be cleaned next day at reception and was told they only clean room if the stay is for seven days. i wish i had booked into premier inn with comfortable beds and polite staff
Nationwide budget short stay hotel with basic facilities provided. don’t expect too high of customer service, i have experienced one in london, they didn’t provide left luggage when i checked out. i have to carry my luggage for the whole afternoon during the sightseeing trip. it caused me too much trouble due to they don’t provide left luggage service in one of the london branch. hoping, cambridge one is better than london.
Very friendly and helpful staff. the rooms are very clean as is the rest of the hotel. if you are staying in the hotel ask for a room over looking the houses as at the back of the hotel there is a motorway. plenty of parking spaces which is free. the dinning area is very bright. it has a 24 hour bar but the drink is a bit expensive. we did not enjoy the breakfast as it was cold and the bagels were stale. we did enjoy our stay as you can get a guided bus to cambridge or st ives. it's only about a 10 min walk from the hotel to the bus stop depending on how fast you can walk. there is also a stagecoach bus with bus stops dotted around the housing estate. watch the time that you go for a bus as they can be pretty busy especially at lunch time. a taxi to cambridge city center is approx £11 to £12.
Lovely staff, but it is a 2 star hotel. no milk at all this morning for breakfast and no idea when it's going to turn up. rooms basic, but i think there is a zoo on the 3rd floor. sounds like they have been exercising an elephant all night considering the incessant loud footsteps. it least it partly masks to noise from the scooter riding kids outside (who almost crashed into my car when i was driving in)
It is what it is. the room we had was totally fine. it was clean and the bed was good. there are no frills at all. the decor isn't great, but it does the job for the night. it is right by the dual carriageway, so there is a bit of noise, but not awful. plenty of parking, but did get busy towards end of the day. staff were friendly. they clearly work hard and there probably aren't enough of them compared to number of guests. breakfast was a bit chaotic and extremely busy at 8am on a sunday. food was fine. dreadful coffee machines. and for some reason there were quite a lot of dogs knocking about the reception. fine for the night. not a lot more.
