When my mum moved in to nursing care, it was time to rent out the family home to help pay the fees. This house is 130 miles from where I live, and I'd been arranging extensive renovations at a distance. These went pretty well, until I had a bathroom fitted by a well-known national firm (who I won't identify, save to say their name rhymes with "Incompetent Bunch Of Ticks") and this bathroom fitting caused considerable damage to my nearly-finished property. When the unnamed firm didn't cooperate with rectifying their damage, I called in Admiral. Merryl came round, immediately saw what was needed, and within a few days was deploying her army of excellent local tradesmen. All was soon repaired and the property finished to the high standard I'd been hoping for. The house was well-advertised and Merryl gave a memorable and reassuring explanation of what they look for in potential tenants — much more than just good references and the ability to pay. The house was soon let to a family who wish to live in Cambridge for the two-year duration of a work placement. After the tenants moved in, a few more post-renovation teething problems presented themselves; these too have been sorted speedily and cost-effectively. Admiral have since handled the reletting of my late dad's flat, which they now manage too. The flat was previously managed by another well-known national firm (who I also won't identify, save to say their name rhymes with "Useless Bunch Of Bleeders") whose staff turnover is tellingly high, whose service was consistently terrible, and who caused a lot of needless aggro for both me and the long-suffering tenants. None of this awaits you if you deal with Merryl and Geoff. With both properties, I've been kept informed every step of the way, all the costs have been reasonable and Admiral's service second-to-none. The whole thing has been no hassle at all. It's really clear that the business is run by people who know what they're doing, which as we all know is increasingly rare. Admiral are a pleasure to work with — when you find a good firm, keep them!
