I don’t usually leave reviews but I was very touched and impressed by the organisation, professionalism, friendliness and compassion I was met with at the Clarendon. Having an ill pet is very distressing and they not only helped her, but they helped me as well. My Guinea pig Blondie was poorly and i was very worried about her. I found the Clarendon clinic online and I called them. The lady on the phone was very empathetic and helpful and booked me in to see a vet within 30 mins, on the same day. Walking in the practice, there was a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We saw Patrick who is a highly skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate vet. He was amazing with Blondie and identified the problem promptly, which was a stone in her urethra. He asked us to come in the next morning for an X ray to confirm the diagnosis and to remove the stone. Having read all sorts of things on the internet I was very worried about the procedure and about her having a GA. However, the whole team in the clinic was very understanding, caring and kind to me and explained what they will do once they see the X ray. They were honest and reassuring, which i very much appreciated. I knew Blondie was in good hands. I had to leave Blondie there for half the day but they kept me updated and involved over the phone at all times. They did an excellent job and managed to avoid surgery, removing the stone without any complications. Well done to the whole team! You are all a special kind of people and this was by far the best experience I have ever had with a veterinarian team. Please keep up the wonderful and caring work! This place is expensive, but I've just learned it's because they are the last independent vet in Cambridge. The vet Harriet is very good, but sometimes there can be issues in communication via email. Fair warning for people coming from outside of England - you need to pay 15 pounds for a prescription because it's a legal document, which I find to be very odd and frustrating, but they also can give pills directly at the vet and are looking into a delivery service. Overall I think I would return because ultimately we solved all of the issues that came up.
