On the first leg of our London to Amsterdam ride we developed a problem with the gear shifter on my daughter's bike. Having spent the night in Canterbury and with a ferry to catch in Dover, we sought a cycle mechanic or shop to see if we could fix the part. We phoned Michael before his opening hours and told him our woes. He asked us to come straight down and then proceeded to take the shifter apart to try and diagnose the issue. We narrowed it down to a suspected broken spring which we could not fix without a replacement. We are so grateful to Michael for his time and kindness to get us back on the road with our limited options. The kindness and support this morning has been reaffirming. The quality and competence of reassuring to any who should need his services.
