Westgate Towers Museum & Viewpoint

Walked past so many times but decided to visit today and was not disappointed. views are incredible and a friendly guide on hand with lots of interesting facts about the tower's history.

The towers were open as part of the medieval pageant day. as it was a very clear day, it gave us wonderful views from the rooftop. museum itself was interesting, but there were also other activities for all to enjoy! narrow staircases are not so easy to use, but, hey, it is an old building!

One of the best parts of visiting this historical landmark, apart from being astonishing and full of great stories, is the fact that you have a super friendly member of staff that is very charming, who knows the history of the tower and not only, and who will crack a joke every time to make you feel welcomed and to have a great stay. the tower itself is a reminiscent of ancient times when it was used as a prison and then later on as a strategic point. even though it is a must to visit, it can be a bit tricky to find the entrance as there are no clear signs towards it. this is the only thing i believe needs improvement. the view from up top is amazing and gives a spectacular sight over the whole canterbury. it's definitely worth visiting it!

This place is a hidden gem!!! drenched in history. an old goal in westgate towers? i never knew it was there either! there is a restaurant, kinda attached to it. from a side door, you are suddenly pulled backwards a few hundred years!! at the very top, a panoramic view of canterbury awaits. fully recommend it. hey, eat in the restaurant, entry to the museum is free!!
