I absolutely love this shop and the wonderful people who work here! Every time I visit they are so helpful and kind - they clearly care a great deal about photography as well as knowing a lot about it. I've bought film here and had it processed, bought a lens and a used film camera (the Yashica-A in the photo) - which Max patiently talked me through how to use! In addition to new and used digital and film cameras, they have a range of film and materials for home processing. They process b&w onsite and send colour off, so that takes a bit longer but I'm fine with that as I want to support this lovely independent business. There's also a sense of community here, which I really appreciate - customers having a chat with each other and recommendations from staff of local darkrooms and courses to go on. I always look forward to my visits!

Really excellent customer service and expertise. Staff took the time to discuss our needs then took the time to let us try at least 5 different spotters and binoculars. They made sure we purchased what was right for us rather than the most expensive. Everything an independent shop should be.

Went in to buy binoculars for my partner. We did not have very much knowledge on what to buy. The young man serving us could not have been more helpful - showing us the choices in our price range, explaining everything we needed to know. Would recommend this store for any purchase of camera or binoculars. Good old fashioned service.

Just purchased a previously enjoyed camera and traded in some of my own equipment in exchange. I was looked after by David on this occasion. David was very knowledgeable and happy to offer advice on my options regarding camera choice. I was in the shop for well over an hour and never felt rushed to make a decision. Jan also helped me to decide what was the best route. I have used Canterbury Cameras for several years and always find them helpful, knowledgeable and honest. Whilst I was there another customer came in and asked for their camera sensor to be cleaned. It turned out to be dust in the viewfinder and the sensor was perfectly clean. The staff member (Max) even took some test shots to show the customer that the sensor did not require cleaning. There was no charge for this and I think it took around 20 minutes to check everything. Wonderful to see this honesty! Great work by all the team at Canterbury Cameras.

Super friendly staff. Reasonably priced film developing and I got a bunch of film from here last month - they carry a good range from 35mm to Polaroid films. Would definitely recommend!
