Small but plenty of character. Staff are friendly and helpful. Menu isn't extensive but is good quality and has all the favourites. Small courtyard garden with heaters to the side.

We were treated very well there! Cosy pub in Canterbury, reasonably priced food and drinks (food is delicious there, btw). Can get very busy at peak hours.

Came in for Saturday lunch, service was ok, food was average, to be honest nothing standing out. They would have scored 4 if the steak we ordered - medium rare, was actually medium rare. It was like well done and dry. We asked for it to be checked by the kitchen, and the chef confirms it’s medium rare. So advice is DO NOT order steak unless you want it well done. See pics. Love the historic, unique pub interior and outside yard. Unspoilt and just as it would have been hundreds of years ago. The food is always good as are the drinks and the beer. The landlady is courteous, welcoming and friendly and just as a good publican should be, 👍
