By attending yoga sessions with cora, i get much more than just a physical exercise. i appreciate cora's effort by reading to us verses from a book and telling us stories. i feel as i belong to community by receiving regular updates, emails, links and of course kindness. namaste!
I became devoted to cora's teaching from the first moment i encountered it, almost a decade ago. she is careful, empathetic and deeply knowledgeable, and over the years has gently helped me to develop and maintain strength, flexibility and serenity. she devises her classes in series, building on aspects of yoga practice from week to week, so that time spent under her tuition is always interesting, as well as thoroughly revitalising. if, like me, you have some health issues -- i have osteoporosis --- you need to be able to trust your teacher completely so that you do not injure yourself. cora is definitely that person. i can't recommend her highly enough.
I have had such a positive experience with canterbury yoga studio. i was rather anxious when i attended my first session but i need not have worried. i was made to feel totally at ease and found that any poses that were a little tricky due to weak muscles or injury were quickly adapted making the classes fully inclusive to all. i have found that i come out of the sessions uplifted, with a toolbox of tips to help with relaxation and i’m gradually becoming physically fitter too. i look forward to my sessions and find that there is a variety of classes throughout the week that i can fit in with my complicated work schedule.
A full yoga experience is what you will receive when you visit canterbury yoga studio not an exercise class. the purpose built studio , the surrounding gardens, and importantly the supportive, experienced and welcoming teachers provide a relaxed insight into a holistic approach to yoga which includes: asanas , philosophy, chanting and relaxation. i have been attending for coming up for five years , see it as a gift to myself and would not want to go anywhere else.
I've been attending classes, workshops and events at canterbury yoga studio for many years now. it is a beautiful and ideal space for body and mind restoration... from the moment you step on the path towards the studio and for the duration of the time you spend there. perfect retreat for fabulously-led self-care. special thank you to my yoga teacher, jo fiakkias, for your continued wisdom, guidance and philosophical approach - i continue, even after all these years(!), to learn so much from every class you lead.
