Coffee Barker

After visiting over five times over the course of a few months, I can confidently say the service, coffee, and atmosphere are perfect every single visit. My personal recommendations are the smashed avocado on white toast with tomatoes. I also added chorizo on top one time and it was divine! One of my favorite spots in Cardiff, worth the extra money every time.

Returned recently for brunch and sadly it did not live up to expectations 😞 We ordered smashed avocado on toast with extras, fried egg & smoked salmon. It arrived very quickly, too quick in my opinion, as the eggs looked like those pre-cooked circular moulded eggs you get in service stations. The avocado was quite thinly spread & my cutlery was dirty. Wish I'd thought to take a photo but unfortunately it just wasn't photo worthy. Still a lovely venue and atmosphere. It was also very busy on Sunday morning but have updated my review from 5 to 3 stars as didn't think it was value for money, having said that, the coffee was still great. A lovely cosy coffee shop in one of the many beautiful Victorian Arcades in Cardiff. Staff were really friendly, service was quick and the coffee & cake delicious! Lovely atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon.

This is such a lovely coffee shop, with the best coffee. The nutella latte is to die for, definitely the best coffee my daughter and I have had. We visited Cardiff last year (for the first time) and found this fab place, so when we went back yesterday, it was the first place we wanted to go, and it didn't disappoint. We were looking for a place with homemade cake and a great atmosphere, Coffee Barker did not disappoint. The overall vibe is cosy, warm, and inviting. There were lots of comfy leather chairs and sofas. The candlelight light was a lovely touch. The place has a lot of character. If you are looking for quality coffee and good homemade cake, this is the place to go.
