Café Rouge - Cardiff St Davids II

Great food, as always. Our waitress was unsure about the use of a taste card on their lunch items. I explained that we had used it multiple times on the lunch items but not the set menu pricing. The waitress made a deal of the situation and said we could see if it worked at the end as she did not think it would work. I asked her to check first, and as it had before worked fine. She didn't seem to be happy about being wrong. This made the situation feel a little awkward. However, the French onion soup and Croque Madame were fantastic.

Food was amazing - the best meal out I’ve had for a long time. Good sized portions without being overwhelming, and just the right amount of everything. Excellent choice of food and drinks with friendly and attentive staff. They were very good with allergy requirements and ensured I was happy and comfortable. Toilets were nice and tidy, as was the whole restaurant. Will definitely go again.

Scrambled egg with toast and beans on the side, toast was perfectly done. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Scrambled eggs also had a perfect consistency not wet not dry just right. Eggs Benedict was also perfect and my wife really enjoyed it. he did every scrap. Teas and coffees reserve promptly on sitting down. also, service was polite and enjoyable. Ricco fun guy

I love coming here to eat. My only preference would be to have more meat free options on the menu. There now a lift up to their toilets which is wheelchair accessible.

A nice place in the centre of the city to sit and eat. Reasonably priced menu with a good choice. I had the chicken burger with sweet potato fries followed by sticky toffee pudding served with salted caramel ice cream. Service was very good, waiter was efficient but friendly. Will go again for sure.
