Amazing french dinner experience here. the menu was limited, options included 2 starters 2 mains and some dessert, 2or3 courses meal are available, highly recommend the snails. the waitress was very friendly. overall definitely worth for the price.
What an amazing find, a little piece of paris heaven in the middle of cardiff. food was excellent, i can recommend the french onion soup and the souffle for starters, both delicious. steak was cooked to perfection. all the food was hot when it arrived. cocktails were a big hit, as was the chardonnay, i really liked the fact that the wine list wasn't massive as a lot of restaurants seem to have these days, they've taken their time to understand what wines would work best with the menu. ambience was amazing, the photos do not do it justice. and even though its only been open a few weeks the service was spot on. can't recommend highly enough and my advice is book now before it becomes so popular that there will be a long waiting list.
Food was alright, i like the 2nd service option, nice touch but the tables had cheap rustling paper on them, just took away some of the feel around the atmosphere and decor server was great and looked after us. i had to knock off a star because of the heat. it was just too hot in there for me. spent 2 hours sweating
5 stars all around! the food is incredible! best french onion soup i've ever had! steak cooked to perfection! service was very helpful. and with rum and fizz and gin and juice just down the end of the arcade it's the perfect place for a evening out! will be coming back!
An absolute delight! the ambience, the service, the food, the drinks, it was all magnifique! our group went with the onion soup and the soufflé and both were really delicious and authentically french. the main was steak for all of us - one small annoyance is the only allowing rare / medium / well done as one of our party really wanted medium-well done. they opted for well done and although it wasn’t quite what she wanted it was delicious nonetheless. second helpings were a lovely delight and the sauce is stunning. tarte tatin was dessert of the day and it was so rich and delicious with cinnamon and apple - beautiful. i will also say there was a customer at a nearby table who seemed determined to complain. firstly that the steak was tough, then that it was cold, then something else and finally took issue with it being cashless payments (it seemed very much like this was a planned exercise as the person dining with him was mortified and said “i told you we have to pay on card, why are you doing this?” the staff handled this person impeccably well and offered resolution to any and all gripes presented in a polite, measured and thoroughly professional way. bravo to them!
