Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel & Spa

Stayed her for two nights to attend a family wedding. Room was spacious and well put together, lovely views of the city. I didn’t have breakfast, we opted to eat out instead. Really close to the city centre be prepared to pay for parking.

Good location, the hotel reception is nice, as well as the restaurant and the breakfast was good. The only issue is that the rooms feel quite old and my room in particular had a strong smell of damp, which is totally unwelcoming. Also, the car park is quite expensive at £20 per day. If it wasn't for the room, it would have been a pleasant stay.

Excellent stay here last night, friendly attentive staff particularly Brenda who made us coffee in the bar this morning and the young man who was at the health spa reception yesterday. Loved the pool which was a decent size. It is a good location for University open days. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable, and nice decor in the lounge bar. There was some difficulty contacting the hotel prior to our stay but Chloe Chard was very helpful, communicating with us via email during her shifts We will visit again.
