We contacted D J Mackay to have a look at our chimney as the bricks were degrading, due to having previously been painted and trapping moisture. We weren't sure whether or not it would be possible possible just to re-point / repair them. They advised that the chimney should be removed as it wasn't possible to re-point / repair due to the bad state that the bricks were in, and that the bricks would degrade further, and the chimney would become unstable. As we had an open gas fire in the living room we would still require a flue. From initial contact with Lauren, from the quote, through to the completed job, we were kept informed at every stage in the process. Josh, Lauren, and their team were hard working, giving exceptional service, professionalism, quality of workmanship, and are obviously very dedicated. Josh and the team did a roof replacement and integrated solar panel fitting. They went above and beyond at every point in the process. In particular, the communication with me was excellent. I recently contacted D J Mackay to re-cement my roof valleys. I forgot to mention the ridges also needed to be done. When the roof was inspected for the quote they guys pointed out the ridges also needed to be done. The work was completed on time and on budget. They also replaced some broken tiles for me.
