Lovely busy place. plenty of choices for food and drinks. good portion sizes. reasonable price. the beer was very nice said hubby so he stuck to that and i had lovely wine.
It was my birthday and the family were all working or busy, so i decided to go for a meal on my own! i can honestly say the best decision ever! i had the steak and ale pie, and i swear it was so big i struggled and finally asked to take the rest home for later and found that this was not a bother to the staff at all. the flavour was excellent and the atmosphere upmarket but still a fine welcome to everybody that came through the door. the wine list was extensive with good restaurant self reviews that were right and i have to say the whole experience was wonderful. thanks for a lovely birthday!
Another sad day in carlisle. after 18 years of trading le gall has shut up shop for the last time. the city is becoming a ghost town with the amount of shops/ restaurants and bars closing down.
Le gall is now a quaint cocktail bar. found this place after walking around looking for a bar that wasn't blasting out overly loud music, and we were very pleasantly surprised. great cocktails, wines, beers and the atmosphere was fantastic.
We came as they have a great gluten free menu and i’m glad we did. food was amazing and it’s not fast food “it’s great food as fast as they can” i had the bacon burger which was brilliant, fries were crisp and fluffy on the inside. i’ve lived in carlisle my whole life and can’t believe i’ve only just visited now.
