Le Gall

Lovely busy place. Plenty of choices for food and drinks. Good portion sizes. Reasonable price. The beer was very nice said hubby so he stuck to that and I had lovely wine.

It was my birthday and the family were all working or busy, so I decided to go for a meal on my own! I can honestly say the best decision ever! I had the steak and ale pie, and I swear it was so big I struggled and finally asked to take the rest home for later and found that this was not a bother to the staff at all. The flavour was excellent and the atmosphere upmarket but still a fine welcome to everybody that came through the door. The wine list was extensive with good restaurant self reviews that were right and I have to say the whole experience was wonderful. Thanks for a lovely birthday!

Another sad day in Carlisle. After 18 years of trading Le Gall has shut up shop for the last time. The city is becoming a ghost town with the amount of shops/ restaurants and bars closing down.

Le Gall is now a quaint cocktail bar. Found this place after walking around looking for a bar that wasn't blasting out overly loud music, and we were very pleasantly surprised. Great cocktails, wines, beers and the atmosphere was fantastic.

We came as they have a great gluten free menu and I’m glad we did. Food was amazing and it’s not fast food “it’s great food as fast as they can” I had the bacon burger which was brilliant, fries were crisp and fluffy on the inside. I’ve lived in Carlisle my whole life and can’t believe I’ve only just visited now.
